The Ancient Set is the Sheikah anti-Guardian outfit: every piece reduces damage from Guardian beams, and the full set at two stars or more boosts ancient and Guardian weapons. Buy each piece from the robot Cherry at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab once the furnace outside is lit, then upgrade it to 28 defence per piece.

How to get the set
Reach the lab
Talk to Purah about the research, then travel to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab in the north-east of the map.
Light the furnace
Light the ancient furnace outside the lab. This opens the shop run by the robot Cherry.
Buy the pieces
Pay Cherry the Rupees and ancient materials listed above. Each piece costs 2,000 Rupees, 20 Ancient Gear, 3 Ancient Core and 5 of one further ancient part; the helm asks for Ancient Shaft, the cuirass for Ancient Screw and the greaves for Ancient Spring.

Upgrades are done at a Great Fairy fountain. The fairies charge 100, 500, 1,000 and 10,000 Rupees in the order you awaken them, and each one you awaken raises the highest star level available by one. Each piece must be upgraded one star at a time, and the set bonus switches on once every worn piece has reached two stars.
Set bonus and use
- Each piece carries Guardian Resist Up, so the full set takes much less damage from Guardian lasers.
- Ancient Proficiency strengthens ancient and Guardian weapons while the whole set is worn at two stars or more.
- Guardians drop most of the upgrade materials; Star Fragments and Giant Ancient Cores are the scarce ones.
