The Salvager Set is a free reward from a collaboration quest based on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Each piece is in a chest marked by a red shooting star, and each piece increases swim speed. Wearing all three also lowers the stamina cost of dash swimming. The pieces cannot be upgraded.

How to get it

The quest comes from the free update released in November 2017 and becomes available once you have left the Great Plateau. The red shooting stars only appear at night, after 9 PM, so rest until nightfall if it is daytime.

Salvager Headwear at Bridge of Hylia

Stand on the middle of the Bridge of Hylia (map position x -40, z 2509, square E-7) after dark and clear away the Lizalfos. Look at the southern sky for a red shooting star and follow the column of red light to the chest where it lands.

Salvager Vest at Skull Lake

Warp to Zuna Kai Shrine at Skull Lake (map position x 3314, z -3499, square I-1) and watch the eastern sky at night. The star lands in a nearby field behind the ridge, and the chest sits in the red light.

Salvager Trousers on Hebra Peak

Climb Hebra Peak (x -2771, z -2914, square C-2) and look to the south-east at night. The star lands far below on a mountain trail, and the chest there holds the Trousers.

Using the set

Swim Speed Up stacks across the three pieces, and the full set adds Swim Dash Stamina Up. Treat the outfit as traversal gear for lakes and rivers rather than for combat. Sources disagree on shop and resale prices, so none are given here.
