The Molduga is a giant sand-dwelling beast of the Gerudo Desert. It swims beneath the sand and rises when it senses footsteps. Stand on rock or keep still, lure it with a rolled bomb and detonate the bomb as it leaps to stun it, then attack freely.
Behavior
It tracks movement through the sand and lunges out to swallow whatever it hears. Standing on solid ground or simply not moving makes you invisible to it.
How to beat it
Choose a rock
Stand on a rock or keep perfectly still so the Molduga cannot locate you; moving across open sand draws it straight to you.
Lure it
Roll a bomb onto the sand to attract it. When it surfaces to eat the bomb, detonate it while the Molduga is in the air.
Hit it while it is airborne
Detonating the bomb while it is in the air stuns it and leaves it helpless on the sand for a few seconds.
Attack and retreat
Rush in and strike with your strongest weapon or a bomb arrow, then back out of range before it recovers and performs its heavy spinning attack. Repeat until it is defeated.
