Bird-Man Research Study

Branli, a researcher waiting on top of Ridgeland Tower, wants to measure how far a Hylian can glide. Pay the fee, jump from the tower and cover as much distance as you can before you land. Community testing puts the cut-offs at about 450 metres for a Purple Rupee and about 600 metres for a Silver Rupee.

Getting started

Climb the tower and talk to Branli

Activate and climb Ridgeland Tower, then speak to Branli at the top. He asks you to help with his research and takes 20 rupees for each attempt.

Making the flight

Get as much height and stamina as you can

Your distance depends on how long you can stay airborne, so arrive with a full stamina wheel. Extra stamina from upgrades or a stamina-restoring meal helps, and Revali‘s Gale adds a large boost of altitude before you glide.

Jump and glide away from the tower

Open the paraglider as soon as you leave the edge and head in one straight line away from the tower, aiming for low ground far off so you lose as little height as possible. Do not turn back. Only the place where you touch down counts.

Collect your payment

Land, then return to Branli. If he is impressed by the distance he pays you in rupees; a shorter flight earns less, or nothing, and costs you another 20 rupees to retry.

Chests and rewards

  • About 600 metres or more: Silver Rupee (100 rupees).
  • About 450 to 600 metres: Purple Rupee (50 rupees).
  • Under about 450 metres: nothing.
