Snowball Bowling

Pondo hands you a snowball at the top of a hill and ten pins stand at the bottom. Knock all ten down with one throw for a strike and a Gold Rupee. The reliable way to do it is to stand directly behind Pondo and throw the ball over his head.

How to find it

Pondo’s Lodge lies just northeast of Hebra Tower. Wear cold-resistant clothing, such as the Snowquill Set, Warm Doublet or Ruby Circlet, before entering the snow.

Solution

Start a game

Speak to Pondo and pay 20 rupees. The snowball is placed at the top of the slope.

Line up the throw

Stand directly behind Pondo and lower the camera until you can see his legs between Link’s legs. Face straight down the hill.

Throw and roll

Throw the snowball over Pondo’s head. It grows as it rolls and should strike the pins at the bottom. Repeat from the same spot for consistent strikes.

Collect the payout

Pondo rewards you according to how many pins fall. Knocking down all ten with two throws counts as a spare and also pays out.

Chests and rewards

  • Strike (all ten pins with one throw): Gold Rupee, worth 300 rupees; the first strike gives a Blizzard Rod
  • Spare (all ten with two throws): Silver Rupee
  • Nine pins: Purple Rupee
  • Seven or eight pins: Red Rupee
  • Six or fewer: nothing
