The Bird in the Mountains

Molli tells a story about her grandfather and a bird seen from a cedar tree in the mountains. Climb to the cedar on Talonto Peak, look northwest to the bird-shaped Biron Snowshelf, and glide to the cave in the cliff in front of it, where Mozo Shenno Shrine waits.

Starting the quest

Talk to Molli

Molli usually sits on a balcony along the stairs in Rito Village, below the level of Akh Va’quot Shrine, between about 9 AM and 9 PM. She points you to a lone cedar north of Rito Stable. Place a pin on it with your slate so you do not lose it.

Climbing Talonto Peak

Prepare for the cold

The Hebra mountains are freezing. Wear cold-resistant clothing, carry a fire weapon, or drink a cold-resistant elixir.

Reach the cedar

Take the road past the Flight Range to Hebra Trailhead Lodge, then climb Rospro Pass to the northeast, past Corvash Peak, using updrafts to reach Talonto Peak (map position x -3172, z -2682). The lone cedar stands on top.

Finding the shrine

Spot the bird

From the peak look northwest. The Biron Snowshelf, a snowfield spreading like wings, is the bird in the story. On a clear day the tips of its wings are visible along the left.

Glide to the cave

Launch and paraglide northwest without climbing too high. At the cliff just before the snowshelf you will see an opening and a hidden shrine inside. Drop to the ridge across the small valley so you can glide once more into the cave. Entering Mozo Shenno Shrine (map position x -3627, z -3038, height 434) completes the quest.
