Hawa Koth Shrine (The Current Solution)

Hawa Koth is a Magnesis and Stasis puzzle about electricity. Use metal cubes to carry current to switches, unwind an electrified chain ball, use it to tip the Guardian Scouts into the water, and finish by completing a circuit on a rail of blocks.

How to find it

Travel to the south-western edge of the Gerudo Desert. The entrance is below the giant skeleton there, near Tera’s Great Fairy Fountain.

Solution

Join the cubes

In the first room, use Magnesis to put the two electrified cubes next to each other so the current reaches the switch. The door to a bigger room opens.

Chest in the water

Look to the right in the stream for a chest. A Guardian Scout above will shoot you, so deflect its beam and then pull the chest out of the water with Magnesis for an Ancient Core.

Unwind the ball and chain

Use Magnesis to unwrap the ball and chain from the column, without touching the chain, and set the ball by the switch. A small lift starts. At the top an untethered ball waits, so move it away from you.

Tip the Guardian Scouts

Use the electric ball on the switches near the Guardian Scouts. The floors flip and drop them in the water. Cross carefully so you are not flipped in, and place the ball on the round switch on the right wall to open a gated room with a Gold Rupee.

Finish the circuit

Put the ball on the switch by the monk’s gate. In the last room, freeze the nearest centre block with Stasis, step on the floor switch, then slide the metal bar beneath the right and centre columns with Magnesis. Step off and let the columns slide back to complete the circuit.

Set the gear

A gate behind you opens. Take the large gear with Magnesis and open the chest for a Sapphire. Line the gear up with the ones over the monk’s gate and speak to Hawa Koth.

  • Ancient Core: in the water chest in the second room.
  • Gold Rupee: in the gated room opened by the round switch.
