Kah Yah Shrine (Quick Thinking)

Quick Thinking is a timing puzzle built around a platform that glides back and forth along the room and a stack of barrels. Ride the platform with a barrel to reach a crystal switch on the right side, then repeat the ride on the left, dodging low grates as you go, and carry a barrel to the final switch.

How to find it

The shrine is hidden until you complete A Fragmented Monument, the shrine quest that reveals it. Once it appears it stands near the Palmorae Ruins at the far south-east of the map, so head for the ruins along the coast and look for the glowing structure.

Solution

Ride the right-hand lane

Four barrels sit in front of a closed gate beside a platform that slides from one end of the room to the other. Wait for the platform, set a barrel on top and ride along with it until an orange crystal switch shines on your right.

Open the gate

Shoot the crystal with an arrow to open the gate. Let the platform carry you through, turn around, and shoot the crystal a second time. Carry a barrel to the switch at the end of the ride and drop it on the plate. The door opens onto the chest holding the Knight’s Claymore.

Ride the left-hand lane

Take another barrel and step onto the platform without putting it down yet. Stand on the left to avoid the first obstacle, then set the barrel on the right side and duck. Ride under the second obstacle, shift to the right to pass the last grate, and place the barrel on the switch at the end.

Finish

The chest on the left side holds a Small Key. Use it on the door in the middle of the room, and Monk Kah Yah waits behind it with your Spirit Orb.

Chests and rewards

  • Knight’s Claymore: in the chest behind the right-hand gate.
  • Small Key: in the chest opened by the left-hand barrel switch; it unlocks the monk’s door.
  • Spirit Orb: from Monk Kah Yah.
