Keh Namut Shrine (Cryonis Trial)

Keh Namut gives you Cryonis, which turns water into ice blocks. Build a pillar to reach the ledge, raise the gate with another, fight the Guardian Scout behind ice cover, and finally make a platform to reach the chest holding the Traveler’s Spear.

How to find it

The shrine is high on the western side of the plateau, where it is cold. Warm clothing or spicy food is needed. You can climb the hills south of the Temple of Time, or cross the Hylia River on a raft.

Solution

Take the Cryonis rune

The exit sits out of reach above a pool. Use the pedestal on the left to unlock Cryonis on the Sheikah Slate.

Raise the ledge

Aim at the pool, make an ice block beneath you and jump up to the ledge.

Lift the gate

Make a pillar directly under the gate in the next area. Its rise pushes the gate open.

Defeat the Guardian Scout

A Guardian Scout lurks beyond the gate. Shoot it with arrows or approach under cover of ice pillars, taking care when its beam charges.

Reach the upper platform

At the final section, place pillars under either end of the tilting platform to climb to the top. Before crossing the bridge to the monk, look right of the stairs for a chest in an alcove and make an ice step to get to it.

Chests and rewards

  • Traveler’s Spear: in the alcove chest, reached by freezing a platform.
  • Spirit Orb: from the monk Keh Namut at the end.
