Kuh Takkar Shrine (Melting Ice Hazard)

Carry a block of ice through a corridor of flames without letting it melt away, and set it on the altar to unseal the monk’s door. Magnesis metal blocks shield both the ice and you from the fire.

How to find it

The shrine is encased in ice at the base of Laparoh Mesa, north-east of the Yiga Hideout. Thaw it with a fire arrow or another flame to get inside.

Solution

Frostblade chest

Before you leave the entrance, push the ice block into the small hole on the right, climb on top of it and hop into the cut-out. The chest there holds a Frostblade. Pull the block back out afterwards.

First fire columns

Carry the ice up the stairs and weave through the first three columns of fire, keeping your distance so it does not melt. For the next hazard, walk by when the rotating fire has gone past.

Row of flames

Stand back and toss the ice under the horizontal row of flames so it slides beneath without melting, then pick it up on the far side. A metal block is in a pool of lava ahead: pull it toward you with Magnesis, throw the ice across the gap, and then move the block to shield the rows of fire.

Falling fire

The last hazard is fire shooting down from above. Toss the ice through the flames; it is large enough to survive. Use Magnesis on the metal block, hold it over yourself and walk under the fire. Fire-resistant armor does not help here.

Finish

Set the ice on the altar at the top. The bars across the shrine lift and Monk Kuh Takkar gives you a Spirit Orb.

Chests and rewards

  • Frostblade: in the cut-out reached by standing on the ice block.
  • Spirit Orb: from Monk Kuh Takkar.
