Mayanas Shrine sits in the sky above South Lanayru. Its blue altar asks for a crystal that lies on a vine-covered neighbouring island: burn the vines, take the crystal, fly it back on a Zonai device and set it on the altar.
How to start The South Lanayru Sky Crystal
Reach the shrine island from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower with the Zonai devices on the nearby islands, then step onto the blue altar in front of the shrine. A voice asks you to offer the crystal connected to it.

Reach the shrine island
Launch from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and glide northeast to a small island with a Soldier Construct, where a Hovercraft is already built, then ride it on to the shrine’s island. Step on the blue altar at the shrine to start the quest, then read the beam of light it sends toward the crystal.
Cross to the vine-covered island
Follow the beam northeast: Soldier Constructs guard floating platforms along the way (their dropped Rockets help you climb). Use the prebuilt Zonai device (or one you build) to fly across to the island covered in vines. Cut or burn through the first wall of vines (a fire-fused weapon or a Fire Fruit works well) and go in.
Take the crystal
The crystal sits behind a second layer of vines. Clear that as well (about (4828, -786, 1896)) and pick up the crystal with Ultrahand.
Fly the crystal back to the altar
Attach the crystal to a Zonai flying device (a vehicle with a Fan and batteries) at the cliff edge, fly back to the shrine island and set the crystal down on the altar. The shrine opens.
Rewards
- Mayanas Shrine’s trial, The Ice Guides You: its chest holds a Zonaite Shield (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress), and the terminal gives a Light of Blessing.
Tips
A spare Fire Fruit saves a trip back if your fire-fused weapon runs out. The crystal is unlikely to roll off the islands, but keep it on the device while flying.
