Jikais Shrine (Jailbreak)

Jikais Shrine is a puzzle shrine on the snowy eastern slope of Mount Lanayru. Every room is crossed the same way: slide a slab or block with Ultrahand, then Ascend through it to reach the level above. A chest on a raised ledge in the second room holds a Magic Staff, and the altar at the end gives a Light of Blessing.

How to find it

The shrine is at map coordinates 4266, -1673 (height 195), about 77 map units from Walnot Mountain Cave on the eastern end of Mount Lanayru, on a ridge above the Afromsia Coast. The usual route is to launch from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower, glide south-east and drop down until the shrine comes into view; the entrance is a round doorway in the snow. It is cold up here, so wear cold-resistant armor or eat cold-resistant food (guides recommend around two levels of cold resistance) before you glide in.

Enter the shrine

Walk through the round doorway into the first chamber. You need Ultrahand and Ascend for every room that follows.

Slide the blocks and Ascend through

Ultrahand the loose blocks hanging on the rails and slide them until one sits directly above the other, forming a ceiling you can Ascend through. Ascend up through it, then glide across to the larger block on the far side to leave the first room. In the next small area, move a square block so it lines up with the next wall indent, Ascend through it and then through the indent’s ceiling to reach the next level.

Ascend to the Magic Staff chest

In the second room, look up and to the right: a metal ledge high on the wall holds the chest. Stand under the platform and Ascend up through it, then open the chest for a Magic Staff (a 4-power staff in guides written at the time of release; it is the only chest in the shrine).

Lay a slab under the hanging pillar

The way on looks like a dead end. Pull the flat slab leaning against the wall with Ultrahand and lay it out flat so that its far end sits beneath the pillar hanging from the ceiling. Stand beneath the slab and Ascend through it to reach the room above.

Bridge the cage and take the Light of Blessing

A large cage blocks the altar. Turn around from the altar, take the second flat slab leaning against the wall and lay it across one corner of the cage, then Ascend through it to climb out. Walk over to the altar and examine it to receive the Light of Blessing.
