Nintendo announced the switch through an in-app notice, which players shared ahead of the update. The notice gives an October 4 start date but does not specify how long the Majora’s Mask pack will remain available.
Link, Tingle, and Odolwa Get the Card Treatment
The preview shows three familiar faces: Link holding the Goron Mask, Tingle clutching his map, and Woodfall Temple boss Odolwa. Each appears on a gold-bordered card with the Majora’s Mask logo and collection numbers at the bottom. The pack itself uses the game’s artwork, with Link and Tatl above the looming mask.
It’s a welcome selection for anyone whose favorite Zelda memories involve Clock Town, transformation masks, and the strange people scattered across Termina. Tingle looks right at home on a collectible card, though having Odolwa turn up beside him makes for a rather different kind of reunion.
These are virtual collectibles you keep within Nintendo Today. The Majora’s Mask pack is part of the wider Zelda collection that Nintendo launched on September 9, with cards inspired by characters, items, and other elements from across the series.
How to Collect the Majora’s Mask Cards
Nintendo Today is a free smart device app that requires a Nintendo Account, a compatible device, and an internet connection. Open the app and visit its Zelda collectible card section to pick up the day’s card.
There’s a useful detail to remember: the card you receive is determined by the date. Nintendo’s Japanese announcement explains that a particular card is assigned to each day, so checking in regularly is how you build the collection.
Collecting a card also gives you a Zelda quiz question. You get one attempt, available only on the day you obtain that card. Answer correctly and you earn medals, which can be exchanged for cards you missed or wallpapers. If you’re trying to fill the gaps in your collection, those daily questions are worth a look.
Nintendo says the complete Zelda collection contains more than 300 cards across the series. That total covers the wider collection, rather than the Majora’s Mask pack alone.
For Majora’s Mask fans, October 4 is a good day to start checking in. There’s no Song of Time needed to collect these, but remembering to open the app each day should help keep a few empty spaces out of your album.
