The ruins are pitch black and lit only by the torch you carry. Follow the bird-shaped statues, light each one, then take the orb from the Hinox sleeping at the end. Place the orb in the pedestal and Ketoh Wawai Shrine rises.

Getting to the ruins

Thyphlo Ruins lie north of the Lost Woods. Take the right fork on the road toward the woods into the mountains of Eldin, hug the border, climbing when needed, and glide down once the shrouded ruins come into view. The entrance is on the west side.

Crossing the dark

Light the statues

Pick up the torch at the entrance and light the bird-shaped statue. Walk in the direction its beak points, then light the next statue, and keep going. Opening a chest or swapping weapons puts your torch out, so lighting every statue keeps the way visible.

Wolves

Wolves appear deeper in. Drop your torch from the menu so the flame survives while you fight. If it goes out, relight it with flint struck by a metal weapon, or with a Fire Arrow or flame weapon.

The Hinox

Take the orb

The statues lead to an open area with a platform that has room for an orb. A Hinox sleeps nearby with the orb on its necklace. Light all the nearby statues first, eat food that boosts defense or hearts, and shoot it in the eye to stun it. It covers the eye after a while and its stomp hits hard.

Alternatively, sneak onto the Hinox and grab the orb without fighting. Bring the orb to the pedestal and Ketoh Wawai Shrine appears.
