Mah Eliya Shrine (Secret Stairway)

This shrine is a stair-building puzzle with two metal boxes, Magnesis, Cryonis and Stasis. Raise the boxes over a small waterfall so they support each other as steps up to the monk, then reverse them to pull a Royal Shield out of a wall chest.

How to find it

Take the Champions’ Ballad quest for Mipha to its final clue about chasing a waterfall’s rings. Cross the bridge from Zora’s Domain to Mikau Lake and wear the Zora Armor. A glowing ring appears; pass through it and more rings form up the waterfall. Swim straight up each fall, glide through the ring at the top, and repeat until the last ring reveals the shrine.

Solution

Reach the left platform

Lift the left box with Magnesis. As it falls, place a Cryonis block beneath it so it stays raised, then climb onto the platform.

Build the first step

With the left box held up, use Magnesis on the small metal box to lift it higher and slide the small box so it sits on the raised platform while holding the left box up. Add a Cryonis block at the top left of the waterfall to catch the left box later.

Raise the right box

Standing on the left box, lift the right box as high as you can and freeze it with Stasis, or support it with another ice block.

Finish the stairs

Remove the small box from under the left box, push the right box over the left, and slide the small box so it stands on the left box while holding up the right box. These form stairs to the monk.

Take the wall chest

A metal chest sits high on the top left wall. Place Cryonis on the right side of the waterfall top and reverse the boxes so the left box rises. From its top, pull the chest out with Magnesis to get the Royal Shield.

Chests and rewards

  • Royal Shield: metal chest high on the left wall.
  • Ruta’s Emblem: from the monk; the last of the three Ruta emblems.
