Sato Koda Shrine (Support and Guidance)

Sato Koda appears after you destroy the four Guardians in Upland Zorana. Inside, use up to three Cryonis ice blocks at a time to steer a falling ball into the right slot, which launches it onto a receptacle and opens the gate to the monk. A chest with a Giant Ancient Core sits on a ledge nearby.

How to find it

This is part of the Mipha‘s Song quest. The pedestal clue mentions ancient foes, and one of the maps shows mountains just above a blue dam. Wear the Zora Armor, swim up the waterfalls to Toto Lake and look west to see Guardian Skywatchers over the area on the map. There are several Skywatchers, a Guardian Turret and other monsters. Wear Guardian-resistant armor or something with high defense, bring Ancient Arrows, and aim at the propellers with arrows to bring the Skywatchers down. Parry the turret or use the Master Sword. Staying on the plateaus keeps Moblins and Lizalfos off you. Defeat all four and the shrine appears.

Solution

Plug the first slot

A ball drops from the top into the first five slots. Place a Cryonis block over the first slot so that the ball rolls over it and into the second.

Redirect the levers

Place another block under the first lever to stop the ball moving it down, so that it rolls off to the right, then down onto the left lever.

Reach the right slot

The ball then falls toward three slots and must land in the right one. Put a third block above the leftmost slot, slightly over the divider, to rebound it. This sends it into the middle slot, and only three blocks may be out at once. Once the ball has passed the first block, remove it and put a block slightly above the middle slot, so that the ball bounces off the left block and rolls off the middle block into the right slot. It may take several attempts for the physics to work. The ball then shoots up to the receptacle and opens the monk’s gate.

Take the chest

By the receptacle, a chest sits on a platform on the right. Make Cryonis blocks to climb up and take the Giant Ancient Core. Then speak to the monk for the Mipha‘s Song emblem.

Chests and rewards

  • Giant Ancient Core: in the chest on the right-hand platform.
  • Emblem: from the monk, the second of Mipha‘s Song’s emblems.
