Kee Dafunia Shrine (The Melting Point)

This Champions’ Ballad shrine is a puzzle about melting ice. Light torches to thaw the blocking ice, climb the thawed blocks, collect the Frostblade from a hidden alcove, and carry a melted block under an overhang to reach the monk.

How to find it

You need the Champions’ Ballad quest “Mipha‘s Song” underway. Speak to the Zora royals, then head to the cliffs above Ulria Grotto, north-east of Zora’s Domain, where two Zora give a clue about the morning sun and a path of light. Wait at the nearby campfire until dawn and look out over the sea between Ankel Island and Knuckel Island. A faint blue ring floats above the water: glide down through it and the shrine surfaces.

Solution

Melt the bridge

The road ahead is blocked by ice. Take a torch from the lit brazier and burn the two large blocks at the end of the bridge to open the way.

Climb the ice ledge

Stand on either pressure plate to send two blocks rolling against the ledge. Melt the farther block down, hop onto the nearer one and melt the ice on the ledge itself.

Find the hidden chest

Underneath the main platform is an alcove sealed with ice. Melt it to reach the chest holding the Frostblade.

Carry the ice

On the top level a huge block waits. Light another torch and melt it down until it is small enough to push and pick up, then carry it under the overhang and set it against the far wall.

Reach the monk

Use Cryonis from the carried block to stack two ice platforms and climb the steep cliff to the monk, who gives you Ruta’s Emblem.
