Robbie, a researcher at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, wants proof that you are the real hero, then needs blue flame to restart the lab’s robot, Cherry. Strip off your gear, take a torch to the Ancient Furnace at Tumlea Heights, light it and carry the flame back to the furnace outside the lab.
Starting the quest
Talk to Purah, then go to Akkala
Once the Locked Mementos main quest is done, speak to Purah again at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. She sends you to Akkala to meet her colleague Robbie.
Show Robbie your scars
The lab sits on the high eastern cliffs of Akkala, up the path from East Akkala Stable. Inside, interact with the robot to bring Robbie out. To convince him you are the real Link, take off all of your equipment so he can see your scars. Once he accepts you, he asks for blue flame, which is the one thing Cherry needs to work again.
Carrying the blue flame
Pick up a torch and reach the furnace
Take a torch from inside the lab, then head west and glide across to the Ancient Furnace at Tumlea Heights, which you can see from the cliff outside. Light your torch on its blue flame.
Bring it home
The flame goes out whenever you run, climb or put the torch away, and rain snuffs it too. Several stone lanterns stand along the way, so light each one as a checkpoint and relight the torch from the nearest if it dies. Moblins and other monsters patrol the route, a Guardian lurks close to the lab and a Yiga Clan assassin can show up, so travel slowly or clear the threats first.
Light the lab’s furnace
Touch the torch to the furnace in front of the lab. Speak to Robbie to receive 3 Ancient Arrows.
Rewards
- 3 Ancient Arrows.
- Cherry is repaired, so you can trade materials for ancient anti-Guardian weapons, shields and arrows.
