| Location | Dampé Studio in Eastern Hyrule Field; read Dampé’s journal on his desk |
| Quest giver | Dampé |
| Available | Right after you complete Automaton Engineer Dampé |
| You’ll need | Firework echo (from The Fireworks Artist in Goron City) and Octorok echo |
| Reward | The Tocktorok, an automaton that shoots fireworks |
This is Dampé’s second commission and the simplest of them: he needs no extra part, just two echoes shown on his pedestal. If you’ve already done The Fireworks Artist on Eldin Volcano, it takes only a few minutes. The reward is the Tocktorok, and completing it opens the next three pages of his journal.
How to Start
After you finish Automaton Engineer Dampé, a “Dampé’s journal!” marker appears on the open book on his desk. Step up to it and check it. The first entry is “Explosions galore!” with the concept “A jovial, explosive automaton that leaves destruction in its wake.” Dampé chimes in (“Good stuff in there, eh?”) and explains that “the idea alone isn’t enough.” The Explosions Galore! side quest banner appears when he’s finished.

Walkthrough
Step 1: Listen to Dampé’s two clues
Dampé is “lookin’ for a creature that spits stones out of its mouth.” To make it “a real zippy automaton,” he’s also thinking “a firework that whooshes into the air would be great for that extra somethin’.” He even gives you a hint: “There’s a guy up on Eldin Volcano who crafts fireworks, so ya might check there.” He’s written it all in his journal if you need a reminder, and promises “one of my finest art pieces” for your help.

Step 2: Get the Firework and Octorok echoes
The stone-spitter is an Octorok, one of the first monsters you can learn (it lives in streams such as the one in western Suthorn Prairie). The Firework comes from Basa, the fireworks artist in Goron City. Finish his quest The Fireworks Artist (bring him blastpowder soil from the golden-flower patch higher up the volcano) and he gives you the Firework echo. If you already have both, you can do the rest right away.

Step 3: Show Dampé the Firework
Stand next to the metal pedestal on the left side of the studio and summon a Firework onto it. It goes off right there in the workshop. Dampé is thrilled: “Ohhh! Would ya look at that!… That’s it! It matches my concept perfectly! Thanks for finding it for me.” He adds “there’s still one more step to sort out.”

Step 4: Show Dampé the Octorok
Now summon an Octorok on the same pedestal. “Oh oh oh! I feel it in my bones! I’m burnin’ with inspiration!” Dampé yells “WOOOO-HOOOO!” and jumps onto his glowing work plate: “Oh! It’s gonna spit stones! So fast! So fierce! So flashy!… Aaaand for the finishing touch, the firework rockets go here…”

Reward
“Bluhuhuh! Now THAT’S what I call a snazzy automaton! Boom! I call this little fella the Tocktorok. Have a blast!” “You got the Tocktorok!” It’s “a snappy automaton that shoots fireworks with relentless glee,” and Dampé reminds you, “if it breaks, you know where to find me.” The banner reads Side Quest Complete: Explosions Galore!, and the “Dampé’s journal!” marker comes back for the next commission. See Automatons for all of Dampé’s creations.

Tips
- Once this quest is done, the journal offers three new entries at once: Performance artist!, Endless stomach! and Chop ’em in two! Those three each need a part from elsewhere in the world as well as an echo.
- Talk to Dampé and choose “I need some repairs.” if an automaton breaks. He fixes them for rupees or monster stones.
