Gasha Seeds are the way to get most of the Magic Rings you cannot pick up in a set place. Plant a seed in soft soil, wait for the tree to grow, then cut down the Gasha Nut. Hidden soil gives better nuts, so the more places you plant, the better your odds.

How a Gasha Tree grows

Planting and maturing

Find a patch of soft soil. The Discovery Ring makes nearby soil easier to spot, and you can get it early in Spirit’s Grave. Stand on the soil, open the Gasha Seed from your item menu, and choose Plant. The seed becomes a tree after you defeat enemies, about 40 kills, or about 20 while you wear the Gasha Ring.

When the tree is fully grown, cut the Gasha Nut with your sword. The nut opens on the spot and you receive what is inside. The tree then withers and the soil is left empty for a new seed.

What a nut can contain

Most nuts hold a Magic Ring. Others hold Hearts, Fairies, Rupees, or potions. A Piece of Heart can come from a nut only once. Hidden or hard-to-reach soil tends to produce rarer rings, and the Gasha Ring increases the chance of a better reward.

Soft soil spots

Lynna Village outhouse (past)

Once you own the Shovel, dig in the soft patch behind the outhouse building in Lynna Village in the past. This is the first planting spot most people use, and it is covered in the Arrival in Labrynna chapter.

Ledge above Rolling Ridge (past)

On top of Rolling Ridge, find the ledge with three bushes in a row. Cut the bushes and dig in the middle of the patch. The game tells you the soil is good for planting. The East Rolling Ridge chapter shows this spot.

Where to get Gasha Seeds

Step into the shooting gallery building in Lynna Village in the past and pay for a round. Higher scores win a Gasha Seed, and the top scores can win a Magic Ring instead. Aim as high as you can. The Deku Forest chapter covers the gallery rounds.

Gift from the man in Lynna Village (past)

In Lynna Village in the past, a man complains about his stash of seeds and gives you a Gasha Seed. He asks you to plant it in soft soil, so use the outhouse patch above.

Syrup’s Potion Shop, Yoll Graveyard (present)

With the Zora Flippers, you can reach Syrup’s potion shop in Yoll Graveyard in the present. The shop sells a Gasha Seed for 300 Rupees.

Ancient Tomb chests (past)

Inside the Ancient Tomb, one chest sits on the first basement level behind a blue statue. Lift the statue with the Power Glove to reach it. A second chest is in a room at the end of the mine cart track with the flying tiles. Each chest holds a Gasha Seed. The Ancient Tomb chapter covers both.

Maku Tree treetop

Go to the Maku Tree and enter the cave in its side. Climb up to the treetop, where Gasha Seeds lie on the floor. The seeds appear at different points in the game, so check again when you return.

Hero’s Cave (linked game only)

In a linked game, Hero’s Cave holds treasure chests that contain Gasha Seeds. The cave also gives the Armor Ring L-3, so finish it on your last visit. See the Final Collection and Hero’s Cave chapter.

Linked game extras

Sea of Storms soft soil (linked game only)

In a linked game, wear the Mermaid Suit and carry the Zora Scale. Go to the Sea of Storms in the past and enter the area enclosed by whirlpools. Warp to the present and dig on the piece of land there to find soft soil.
