Twilight Princess has no hidden Great Fairy fountains scattered over Hyrule. The five Great Fairies live in the Cave of Ordeals, one on every tenth floor, and the four Spirit Springs where the Light Spirits live are the game’s fairy fountains. The first four fairies send healing fairies to one spring each, and the fifth, on floor 50, rewards you with Great Fairy’s Tears. The cave is under Gerudo Mesa in the desert, so this comes late in the game. The floor-by-floor route is in the Cave of Ordeals chapter and the Cave of Ordeals reference.

The five Great Fairies
Floor 10: Ordon Spring
After nine floors of fighting you reach a quiet chamber with a pool and a bright spot in the middle. Speak to the light and the Great Fairy appears. She releases fairies into Ordon Spring, restores your hearts and opens the way down. The Spinner will be needed on the very next floor. She can also send you out of the cave on request, but leaving resets the cave to floor 1, so only go if you have to.

Floor 20: Faron Spring
The second fairy fills Faron Spring. Floor 21 needs the Ball and Chain, so check that you are carrying it.

Floor 30: Eldin Spring
The third fairy fills Eldin Spring. The Dominion Rod is needed on floor 31.

Floor 40: Spring of the Spirit Lanayru
The fourth fairy fills the Spring of the Spirit Lanayru, and she is the last stop before floor 41, which needs the Double Clawshots. The rooms ahead are the toughest in the cave, so refill your bottles and use her chamber to recover.

Floor 50: Great Fairy’s Tears
On the last floor, talk to the final Great Fairy with an empty bottle in your inventory. The first time you do, she fills a bottle with Great Fairy’s Tears, which restore all your hearts and give a strong, temporary attack boost. She also tells you that you can ask for more at any spring. Keep one bottle empty before you go in, because the reward needs it. Jovani also gives a bottle of Great Fairy’s Tears for 20 Poe Souls, so these are the only two ways to get the first bottle.

The Spirit Springs
Where each spring is
The four springs are the homes of the Light Spirits and are open as soon as you free their province. Each spring only gets fairies once its Great Fairy has been visited. Once filled, the fairies stay: walk up and swing an empty bottle at one to catch it. A caught fairy revives you automatically when you run out of hearts, so keep a bottle for it. Standing in any Spirit Spring also slowly restores your hearts.

| Spring | Where | Filled by |
|---|---|---|
| Ordon Spring | Ordon Woods, the home of Ordona | Floor 10 |
| Faron Spring | Southern Faron Woods, the home of Faron | Floor 20 |
| Eldin Spring | The front entrance of Kakariko Village, the home of Eldin | Floor 30 |
| Spring of the Spirit Lanayru | Lake Hylia, the home of Lanayru | Floor 40 |
More Great Fairy’s Tears
After you have reached floor 50, you can speak to the Great Fairy at any spring and receive Great Fairy’s Tears, as long as you do not already hold a bottle of them. In practice you can only carry one bottle of Tears at a time; empty it, then go back for another. Completing the cave a second time may let the floor 50 fairy fill a second bottle, but that is unconfirmed, so do not rely on it.

Tips
Before you go
Bring a full quiver and bomb bag, healing potions and an empty bottle, and consider the Magic Armor for the Darknut floors. The cave also hides three Poe Souls (floors 17, 33 and 44), counted on the Poe Souls page. The empty bottle for floor 50 comes from the bottle locations.
