| Total | 4 bottles, and no more. Each one is a permanent keepsake: when you use up the contents, the glass stays in your inventory. |
|---|---|
| Earliest | Bottle 1 in Ordon Village, before the first dungeon |
| Latest | Bottle 4 from Jovani in Castle Town, for 20 Poe Souls (any time after you can hunt Poes) |
| Extra | A Great Fairy fills one bottle with Great Fairy’s Tears on the 50th floor of the Cave of Ordeals, and the springs hold fairies for any bottle |
Twilight Princess HD has four bottles: one from Sera in Ordon Village (half full of goat milk), one you buy from Coro in Faron Woods (full of Lantern oil, 100 Rupees), one you fish out of the pond at Hena’s Fishing Hole in Upper Zora’s River, and one from Jovani in Castle Town once you have handed him 20 Poe Souls (full of Great Fairy’s Tears). Directions use the Normal Mode layout. Hero Mode mirrors the world, so swap left and right and east and west.

Bottle 1: Sera’s Sundries, Ordon Village
Fishing Rod first
You cannot start this until you hold the Fishing Rod. Run to the river at the east side of Ordon Village and talk to Uli, whose baby’s cradle has floated away. Get it back (call the hawk from Jaggle’s hawk grass and send it after the monkey carrying the cradle), bring it to Uli, and follow her home to receive the rod. Details are in the Ordon Village chapter.

Feed the cat and follow it home
Go to the east end of the village, where Sera’s cat sits on the bank staring into the water. Stand on the ledge next to it, equip the Fishing Rod and cast. When the float stands upright and sinks, pull back to hook a fish, then cast and catch a second one. The cat snatches the catch and runs to Sera’s Sundries.

Walk into Sera’s Sundries and talk to Sera. Delighted that her cat is eating again, she hands you your first bottle, holding half a serving of Ordon Goat Milk. Drink it whenever you want; the bottle stays. She now also sells the Slingshot for 30 Rupees.

Bottle 2: Coro, Faron Woods
Lantern oil for 100 Rupees
This one opens during the Faron Twilight chapter, after you have found the Tears of Light inside Coro’s house. Talk to Coro in South Faron Woods: he gives you the small key for the Forest Temple gate and offers a bottle of Lantern Oil for 100 Rupees. Buy it. Once the oil is used up, the bottle is yours for good. If you are short on Rupees, cut the grass around his house or open the chest in the basement of your house in Ordon; if you decline now, he keeps the offer open. See the Faron Woods chapter.

You already own the Lantern by now: Coro gave it to you for free on your first visit, hoping you would buy oil later. Do not confuse that gift with this bottle.

Bottle 3: Hena’s Fishing Hole, Upper Zora’s River
Fish it out of the pond
Hena’s Fishing Hole is the far north door of Upper Zora’s River, reached once the Lanayru Twilight is gone and Lake Hylia is open. Walk the path around the pond until you reach the sign that tells visitors not to throw bottles in the water.

Equip the normal Fishing Rod (not the Lure Rod from Hena’s canoe) and cast into the pond beside the sign, a little to the north-east of the bridge. You will hook small fish first; keep casting and eventually the line comes up with an Empty Bottle. The pond is on the east side of the bridge in Normal Mode and on the west in Hero Mode. This is the only bottle that arrives empty.

Bottle 4: Jovani, Castle Town
20 Poe Souls

Transform into Wolf Link and dig under the left side of the house where the cats gather. Inside, talk to Jovani. He and his cat Gengle regain some movement, and he gives you a bottle full of Great Fairy‘s Tears. In the HD version he also gives you the Ghost Lantern, which lights up when an uncollected Poe is close by and burns no oil. Bring all 60 Poes later to lift his curse completely: Gengle then pays 200 Rupees once per visit to Castle Town.
