Found inHyrule Field, Tabantha Frontier and the Gerudo Highlands (six in all)

The toughest of the plain stone giants, with three times the HP of the basic one, and the richest drops. It is fought the same way: knock it down, climb, and smash the ore.

Where to find it

  • West Vatorsa Snowfield: between Gerudo Tower and Keeha Yoog Shrine.
  • Illumeni Plateau: north-west of Mijah Rokee Shrine, south-south-west of Tabantha Bridge Stable.
  • Gisa Crater: west of Tabantha Tower.
  • Kolami Bridge South: east of Tabantha Tower.
  • Hyrule Castle West: on a small island west of the castle.
  • Hyrule Castle underground: reached through the castle’s east entrance.

How to beat it

Bring it down

Blow off its arms with Remote Bombs, or shoot the ore with an arrow. When it falls, it is open for a short time.

Climb and break the ore

Climb on and hit the ore with a heavy rock-breaking weapon. With 900 HP you may need several rounds of knock-down and climb.

Pick up the gems

It collapses and leaves valuable gems behind. Everything but luminous stone can drop.

Tips

  • Pack extra Remote Bombs, since each knock-down needs a blast.
  • Its gem list is the longest of any plain Talus, with Sapphire and Diamond among them.

Drops

  • Flint, Amber, Opal, Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond.
