How to find him
The hideout lies at the end of Karusa Valley in the Gerudo Desert. Until you have begun the Vah Naboris quest by speaking to Riju in Gerudo Town, a large rock blocks the entrance. Inside, sneak past the Yiga Blademasters: if one spots you he whistles, shuts the doors and summons two Yiga Footsoldiers with bows.
Fighting Master Kohga
Inside, a dead-end room hides a door you can pull open with Magnesis, and the fight starts as soon as it opens, so prepare healing food first. He shields himself and throws boulders that Stasis cannot stop.
Phase one
Kohga teleports around the room and prepares a rock. While he does this he is open to arrows. Shoot him and the rock drops on him.

Phase two
He moves to the middle of the room above the pit and spins two spheres. Stun him with an arrow when one is above his head so it falls on him, then attack him on the ground.

Phase three
He summons one large metal sphere and steers it toward you. Take it over with Magnesis and drop it on him. Repeat until he is defeated.

Rewards
| Item | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Thunder Helm | Lightning Proof |
Kohga drops nothing himself; the chest appears near the edge of the chasm. Riju wears the helm to survive Naboris’s lightning, so you hand it to her. After you finish the Vah Naboris quest, the side quest The Thunder Helm lets you earn it back from her by completing the Gerudo Town side quests.
