Vah Naboris roams the Gerudo desert. You recover the Thunder Helm from Master Kohga in the Yiga hideout, stay inside Riju’s protection while shooting the beast’s legs with Bomb Arrows, then rotate the cylinder rooms inside to power five terminals and defeat Thunderblight Ganon.

The Thunder Helm

Speak to the captain

Riju says the Thunder Helm was stolen by the Yiga Clan. Talk to the captain of the guard in the courtyard near the throne room. She says the Yiga hide in Karusa Valley and that the guard Barta went to scout and has not returned. Keep your disguise on in town.

Travel to Karusa Valley

Ride a Sand Seal north across the desert to the canyon mouth, avoiding Lightning Lizalfos. The Yiga trigger boulders down the canyon. Leave the seal at the high walls and statues and change into sturdier armor. A Yiga Archer ambushes you near the hideout and three more attack at its entrance, so use statues for cover.

The hideout

Light the banners in the entry room with a torch or fire arrow: they hide chests with a Sapphire and a Purple Rupee, Keese, and the true path. Barta is in her cell up the stairs. Blademasters patrol, but a dropped Mighty Banana distracts them while you sneak by. Climb ladders into the rafters to find chests with a Topaz, Silver Rupee and Gold Rupees, and a banana stash.

In the last room, use Magnesis to reveal buried chests holding a Ruby and two Topaz and a fake metal wall that you turn. It leads outside to Master Kohga.

Master Kohga

He shields himself and summons boulders. Shoot him while he summons so the boulder drops on him. Then he spins two spheres overhead: stun him when one is above him. In the last phase he steers a huge spiked sphere with Magnesis; take control of it with your own Magnesis and send it into him. A chest then appears with the Thunder Helm.

Attacking Vah Naboris

Return to Riju

Back in Gerudo Town, put your disguise on and report to Buliara, then Riju. She wears the Helm and Link recalls a memory of Urbosa. She asks you to meet her at the South Outpost, south of the town.

Stay in the field

At the outpost tower, a chest on the main floor holds a Golden Bow. Ride Sand Seals toward the beast and keep inside the protective field around Riju. A purple circle closes around you before each lightning strike, which will likely kill you outside the field. Riju meets you at the top of the tower and hands you 20 Bomb Arrows. Shoot the glowing feet with them. You need four hits, and when all four legs are hit Vah Naboris falls and you can board.

Inside Divine Beast Vah Naboris

Map and first terminal

Defeat the Guardian Scout with a spear, shoot the eye to clear Malice and follow the wall slope to the Guidance Stone. Below, a chest hangs on a rope: Stasis the chest, shoot the rope, pull it in with Magnesis for an Ancient Core. The map lets you rotate parts of the cylinder room.

Clear Malice over the central platform and ride it up for chests with a Knight’s Bow and an Ancient Shaft. The first terminal is in a block with a hole in the floor: ride a platform to its door, rotate until the box appears, step in and take it to the ceiling.

Second and third terminals

Rotate the back cylinder to build a platform to the sealed metal door and from there to a bombable wall with an Ancient Spring. A chest at another door holds 5 Bomb Arrows. Align cylinders to connect the green wires, which turns the wall, and ride a ledge up to the second terminal. For the third, ride into the spiked corridor with Malice and rotating lasers and run to a chest with a Knight’s Shield. Then use the neck: push the crank both ways until the switches turn blue and the neck rises.

Fourth and fifth terminals

Climb through the top exit and align the cylinder wires. Use Magnesis on the metal slabs to raise the tail, then ride it up to the door blocked by Malice and an eye. Inside, clear Malice, push the crank to connect the wires to the elevator switch and reach the hump with the fourth terminal. A chest with a Topaz is near the moving platform.

Take the elevator down, shoot the eye, and fight two Guardian Scouts. Place the two electric balls (one between floors in the first hump room, one on the top floor of the other) in the pedestals to open the fifth terminal.

Boss: Thunderblight Ganon

Phase one

Return to the main control unit by rotating the middle cylinder. Thunderblight Ganon teleports, throws electric balls and attacks quickly. Perfect dodge and flurry, or break his shield and stun him, then hit hard. Shoot arrows while his shield reforms.

Phase two

At about half health he electrifies his axe and attacks more. Eat electric-resistant food or drink an elixir, or you will be paralyzed and drop your weapons. He drops metal spikes to chain lightning, so lift a spike with Magnesis to shock him. At low health he aims an eye laser; take cover until it ends.
