The Stolen Heirloom

Quest typeShrine quest
GiverPaya, at Impa‘s house (the guards Dorian and Cado know more)
Starts inKakariko Village, Dueling Peaks region (map square G-5)
RequirementFinish Find the Fairy Fountain, Flown the Coop and By Firefly’s Light first
RewardReveals Lakna Rokee Shrine (Lakna Rokee’s Blessing), a Spirit Orb

Something precious was taken from Paya, and one of the guards outside Impa’s house knows more than he admits. Once you have completed three other Kakariko quests, wait until 10 PM, tail the guard Dorian up the path toward the Great Fairy Fountain, defeat the Yiga Blademaster who steps out, and place the recovered Sheikah Heirloom on the pedestal.

Before you begin

Complete the three prerequisites

The quest only appears after you have finished the Kakariko side quests Find the Fairy Fountain, Flown the Coop and By Firefly’s Light. Until then, the quest does not start.

Talk to Paya and the guards

Speak to Paya at Impa‘s house in Kakariko Village. She is in tears because the Sheikah Heirloom has been stolen, and this starts the quest. Then speak to the guards outside, Dorian and Cado, about who has been visiting the house.

Following Dorian

Wait for night

Wait by the fire outside until 10 PM. One of the guards, Dorian, leaves his post then. Stealth armor or food that boosts sneaking makes the tail easier, and saving often is wise: if he spots you, the quest has to start over.

Tail him up the path

Dorian walks up the road toward the Great Fairy Fountain. Keep your distance and duck behind the rock beside the bridge while he crosses. Do not speak to him until he calls out for whoever is following him to show themselves.

The Yiga Blademaster

Defeat the ambusher

A Yiga Blademaster appears and challenges you instead of striking Dorian. He is fast and can take away several hearts with a single swing, so bring hearty food. Shoot him from range, ideally with Bomb Arrows, then finish him in melee with a shield and a one-handed weapon.

Recover the Heirloom

After the fight Dorian admits that the Yiga clan forced him to pass on information and asks you to take the Sheikah Heirloom to the pedestal. Set it in the slot so that Lakna Rokee Shrine rises from the ground.
