Rubber Set

The Rubber Set protects Link from electricity: with the full set on and upgraded, shock attacks do not stun him. You collect it piece by piece, with the Helm from a side quest at Lakeside Stable, the Armor from Toh Yahsa Shrine on Thundra Plateau and the Tights from Qukah Nata Shrine just south of Calora Lake.

How to get each piece

Rubber Helm

Go to Lakeside Stable in the Faron region (map position x 1552, z 3538, square G-8) and talk to Cima, who asks you to find out why lightning keeps striking the area. Climb the lookout post at the front of the stable and spot the Woodcutter’s Axe stuck in the wooden horse’s head on top of the building. Pull it free with Magnesis, knock it loose with Revali‘s Gale or wait for an updraft, then bring it back to her. She gives you the Rubber Helm as thanks.

Rubber Tights

Speak to Kass at Calora Lake to start A Song of Storms. Find the pile of rocks shaped like a shrine on the hill just south of the lake and make lightning strike it. The simplest way is to drop a metal weapon or shield on top of the rocks and glide away before the strike. This opens Qukah Nata Shrine (x 2008, z 3285, square H-8), and the Tights are in the chest inside.

Rubber Armor

Travel to Thundra Plateau, west of Ridgeland Tower, which starts the Trial of Thunder shrine quest. Leave metal weapons, bows and shields behind or you will be shocked repeatedly. Return the four coloured orbs to their matching receptacles on the central plateau, using Stasis to launch the ones that sit out of reach. This opens Toh Yahsa Shrine (x -2269, z -901, square C-4).

Open the chest in Toh Yahsa Shrine

Inside the shrine, blow up the breakable block directly below the entrance platform with a bomb. It hides a chest containing the Rubber Armor.

Set bonus

With all three pieces on, the Shockproof bonus applies. Upgrade each piece to at least two stars so that it works.

Where to upgrade

Upgrades are done at a Great Fairy Fountain. Four fountains exist: Cotera near Kakariko Village (map position x 1976, z 846, square G-5), Kaysa in Tabantha (x -3540, z -747, B-4), Mija in Akkala (x 4112, z -1378, J-3) and Tera in the far south-west of the Gerudo Desert (x -4870, z 3825, A-8). Awakening them costs 100, 500, 1,000 and 10,000 Rupees in the order you wake them, and every fairy you awaken raises the highest star level you can reach by one, up to four stars. Each piece is upgraded one star at a time, and the materials are used up per piece.
