Who he was
Daruk was a strong and loyal Goron. His descendant Yunobo can use Daruk’s Protection as well, and he is the one who uses it against the Divine Beast near Goron City. The city honours the Champion with a large carving in the rock above the town.
Where he appears
Speak to Bludo, the Goron boss, in Goron City for the Divine Beast Vah Rudania quest. After you rescue Yunobo and report back, Bludo points out the carving of Daruk, which triggers Memory 4, Daruk’s Mettle. Inside Vah Rudania you hear his voice.
Quests and rewards
- Divine Beast Vah Rudania: defeat Fireblight Ganon for a Heart Container and Daruk’s Protection.
- Talk to Bludo after the quest to collect the Boulder Breaker from his house; the blacksmith in town repairs it.
- The Champions’ Ballad DLC adds the trial Champion Daruk’s Song and an upgraded ability, Daruk’s Protection +.
Daruk’s Protection
While you hold the guard button, a barrier automatically blocks attacks that would hit you. It works three times before it needs 18 minutes to recharge, or 6 minutes inside Hyrule Castle.
Boulder Breaker
The Boulder Breaker is a two-handed weapon with attack 60 and durability 60, heavy enough that a Hylian needs real strength to swing it.
