Faron is the swampy southeast region, home to the Deku Scrubs and the stop in the Lands of the Goddesses questline where Tri’s rift has taken root. You enter at its northwest corner, just east of Lake Hylia, where a waypoint marks the jungle’s edge. A Hyrulean soldier on the path warns that the wetlands are a forbidding place full of electric monsters, and a little farther south the Faron Wetlands title card rolls over a stairway of Deku-head statues.

On the road in, keep your rod out: the frog monsters in the ponds give you the Drippitune echo, and the burrowing wolf-like creatures in the next clearing give you the Hoarder. Drippitune’s rain becomes essential inside the rift. Just past them, two Deku Scrubs stand by a big round tree, and one has burrowed into the ground; Bind it and pull it up to talk. They name the Drippitunes, warn you not to pet the electric Buzz Blobs, mention the dark thorns that sprang up all over the wetlands, and point you to the cotton candy at the Sweet Spot in northern Faron Wetlands.

Pick up the Buzz Blob echo on the pond paths before you head for the temple, and keep a fire echo such as Ignizol handy: spider webs choke the whole region and only burning clears them. Fire and electricity both do heavy lifting in the rift and temple, alongside Drippitune’s rain.

The Sweet Spot and Scrubton

Follow Tri’s advice and make for the biggest rift on the map, east of where you came in. It sits at the Sweet Spot, a carved temple north of Scrubton, but the two guard Scrubs at the gate deliver the bad news: it serves all-you-can-eat treats, it’s members only, and nobody gets in without a membership card.

Scrubton, the all-Deku-Scrub village, sits in the middle of the wetlands just south of the Sweet Spot; you pass its stone clink on the way in. Two Scrubs in the plaza are eating “cotton candy” and cheerfully admit it’s made out of spiderwebs. This is the home of the smoothie craze, so Business Scrub’s original Smoothie Shop is here, along with the side quest The Rain-Making Monster: a researcher Scrub on a ledge remembers a monster making a sound before the rain, so summon a Drippitune beside him and let it croak. It’s worth 8 Electro Apples.

Your lead for a card comes from a Scrub waiting by an empty hut beside a rift. He was told he could get a membership card there, but nobody’s around, and he decides his friend Blossu, a member who lives in a southern corner of Faron Wetlands, was pulling his sprig. Blossu’s home now has a huge patch of dark thorns right on it, so head south to find them.

Blossu’s House and the Lockup

A Scrub at a hut by the rift tells you Blossu is a friend “from a southern corner of Faron Wetlands,” so head south through the tall grass. You’ll find Blossu (the mushroom-capped Scrub) and friends beside a rift that has swallowed most of Blossu’s house; the others envy the endless webs and cotton candy, and the fact that Blossu has a membership card for the Sweet Spot. Step onto the stone platform in the rift to enter Stilled Blossu’s House. Inside, burn the purple webs with a fire echo, deal with the Deku Babas, stack Water Block echoes to climb through the side-view cave, and gather all five of Tri’s friends to seal the rift.

Sealing the rift earns you 2 Might Crystals from Tri and puts Blossu’s home back to normal. The celebration doesn’t last: no more thorns means no more webs, and the other Scrubs turn on Zelda (“MONSTER!”), grab her, and throw her in the clink in Scrubton, the Deku Scrub Lockup, “until you show you’re sorry!”

Loot the lockup: the Deku Scrub Lockup isn’t optional, and it hides a Piece of Heart on top of a stack of Deku totems in one of its rooms. It sits right on the Bind-only escape route, so grab it on the way out before you reach the guard who has the Tri Rod.

Deku Scrub Lockup

The Scrubs throw Zelda in the clink at the Deku Scrub Lockup and confiscate her belongings, Tri Rod included; they think it’s a cotton-candy stick. That means no echoes and no rupees for this stretch: it’s Bind-only. The key is lying just outside the bars, so use Bind to pull it through and grab the lockup key, then use it on the cell door and slip out.

Now stealth. Deku guards patrol the next few rooms, and if one spots you it’s back to the cell. Bind a wooden crate and walk it alongside you as a moving screen, keeping it between you and whichever guard is looking your way; where crates won’t reach, hide among the rows of pots until the patrol passes. Take it a crate-length at a time and watch which way each guard is facing before you step into the open.

Past the crate rooms, the cell block opens into rooms of beds, shrubs and stacked Deku totems. In one small room a Piece of Heart sits on top of a stack of totems: Bind the bed, the little table, the torch stands and the shrubs over beside the totems and pile them into a rickety staircase, then climb up and claim it. Then keep sneaking through the corridors beyond, Binding beds and shrubs out of your way.

In the last room you find the culprit: a Deku guard happily using the Tri Rod to eat cotton candy. Tri can’t stand to watch and protests that the rod is special and not for food; after one last mouthful the guard hands it back, and Zelda gets all her belongings back (the rod is a bit sticky). With echoes restored, Zelda makes it out of the lockup.

Free again, Zelda finds Blossu waiting outside, and now that Blossu has a home to go back to they hand over their membership card for the Sweet Spot. Show it to the Deku guards at the Sweet Spot gate. Inside, the Scrubs are feasting on spiderwebs when the rift bursts open and swallows several of them; deal with the spiders that pour out, then step into the rift to enter the Stilled Faron Wetlands. It’s a crossing of floating platforms joined by web bridges (burn the webs) with monster packs and a few chests along the way; you can learn the Electric Keese echo here. Further on, an arena of six lit braziers sits in front of a wall of flame: summon the Drippitune echo and let its rain douse the braziers to bring the flames down. A side-view cave and dark jungle ruins follow, and the route ends with a swim through a green pool that surfaces inside Faron Temple.

Next: the dungeon has its own page, Faron Temple, from the entrance to the Gohma boss fight. The collectibles below cover the whole region.

Faron Collectibles

Four Pieces of Heart turn up in the wetlands, plus four Stamp Stands along the jungle paths. Two hearts sit in caves you can reach while exploring around Scrubton, the third is inside the Deku Scrub Lockup and is grabbed during the escape, and the fourth is the reward for the later Cotton-Candy Hunt quest in the Hidden Ruins.

Piece of Heart 1: the totems in the Deku Scrub Lockup

During the Lockup escape, partway through the sneaking section, you reach a room with a row of stacked Deku totems and a Piece of Heart sitting on top. Use Bind to drag the bed, table, stands, and potted shrubs over beside the totems and pile them into steps, then climb up and walk across the totem tops to the piece.

Piece of Heart 2: the underwater cave

North of Heart Lake there’s a small diamond-shaped pond; dive in and it leads into a side-view underwater cave. Swim through with a Chompfin echo to deal with the Lizalfos and the Armos patrolling the floor, then stack Cloud echoes at the far end to climb out onto a high ledge. The piece sits there next to another patrolling Armos while Zirros drop bombs from above; slip past and grab it.

Piece of Heart 3: the dark cave

Past the waterfall stream and the shallow marsh, a corridor of glowing blue mushrooms leads into a pitch-dark cave. Light the braziers as you go so you can see the walkways; early on, the piece glows on an isolated ledge across a black gap. Ride a Cloud echo over the gap to reach it. Deeper in, the cave continues with more braziers and spider webs to burn and a chest with 50 rupees.

Piece of Heart 4: Cotton-Candy Hunt

This one comes later, after Sago’s ruins in Eastern Hyrule Field have given you the ancient charm. In Scrubton, a Deku Scrub still loyal to cotton candy saw a big floating thing of it in the ruins south of town, the ones with the rain-making frogs, and starts the Cotton-Candy Hunt. Cross the jungle on Cloud echoes to the Hidden Ruins entrance. Inside, burn the spiderwebs and clear out the Crawltulas, use Bind on the blocks in the switch room, then work up through the side-view rooms with Water Blocks and swim the flooded passage. At the end, Smog is back for a rematch. Bind the pots and use echoes to hit his cloud pieces until he gives up, and the Piece of Heart appears. Bring the news back to the scrub in Scrubton and he finishes your ancient charm, turning it into a curious charm that greatly reduces damage.

The four Stamp Stands

First, on top of a small waterfall just past the Deku Scrub Lockup entrance; walk up the grassy bank beside it. Second, on a grassy ledge just below a rift, right after the Might Crystal in the dirt clearing. Third, on a cliff ledge across the stream with switch blocks; float over on a Cloud echo. Fourth, in the middle of a small pond at the foot of the cliff by a rift, right below the alcove with the third Might Crystal. That one finishes the card.

About the Fairy Bottle

Faron doesn’t have a Fairy Bottle. The fourth and last one comes from The Zappy Shipwreck: clear the wrecked ship off the coast and beat the giant electric jellyfish inside, then talk to the sailor at the Seesyde Village dock. He hands over a fairy bottle, and the Great Fairy Shrine at Lake Hylia puts a fairy in it.

Might Crystals and echoes

Might Crystals: three are lying around the wetlands (a hedged jungle clearing, a dirt clearing, and a cliff alcove beside a rift that you reach on clouds). Tri gives you 2 after the Stilled Blossu’s House rift, 5 after Gohma, and 2 more after the Stilled Heart Lake rift, and the Mobbing Mothulas! quest pays one more. Echoes learned here: Drippitune, Hoarder, Lizalfos Lv. 3, Baby Gohma, Buzz Blob, Giant Goponga Flower, Mothula Lv. 2, Goo Specter, Darknut Lv. 3, and Electric Keese in the rift.
