A Time for Action is a siege on a sprawling set of outposts that you run with four sages at once. You win by capturing the outposts, reaching the main one and defeating all five powerful enemies on the map. The battle rewards you for splitting your party, so it is a good place to practise commanding several units.

Before you start

The recommended level is 35. Your party is fixed, so there is nothing to choose: Raphica, Agraston, Qia and Ardi. Bring at least one Balloon Zonai device for the fast trip to the main outpost, and carry spare Special Rations, because you will be fighting on several fronts at once. If you want every chest and seed, switch on the Bonus Exchange effects that show Koroks and hidden chests on the minimap before you deploy.

Opening fights and the four outposts

Use the elemental skills first

The battle opens at the temple itself, where you must defeat the horde attacking it, led by a Fire Moblin, a Fire Boss Bokoblin and an Ice Moblin, before the siege map opens up. Open with each sage’s elemental skill instead of plain combos. Use Qia’s Cyclone Sweep against the Fire Moblin and the Fire Boss Bokoblin, and Agraston’s Flame Burst against the Ice Moblin, which is weak to it.

Capture the four outposts

You can head straight for the next objective outpost, but it pays to take all four enemy outposts first. Split your party into four units, one per outpost, using the map menu; capturing outposts in parallel earns bonus rewards. The fourth outpost is held by an Ice Lynel, so send Agraston there.

Cave outposts

Next, capture the three outposts inside the cave. An Ice Boss Bokoblin guards this section, so keep a fire user close, and a Stone Talus defends the last of the three outposts.

Main outpost and the finale

Balloon to the main outpost

Send at least one unit to the main outpost with a Balloon Zonai device, which carries a unit to an allied outpost. That unit has to hold off a Stalnox and two Stalmoblins, so bring the rest of the party in behind it as backup.

Defeat the five powerful enemies

Once one of the first three elite enemies is down, a Black Boss Bokoblin and a White-Maned Lynel join the siege. The battle ends when all five powerful enemies are defeated, so follow the minimap markers to find the stragglers.

Korok Seeds

The battle holds four Korok Seeds.

Seed 1: clover plant by the fence post

On the path toward the caves, a clover-shaped plant sprouts in the dirt beside a wooden cross fence post. Interact with it to free the Korok.

Seed 2: Korok at the spiked gate

At an outpost gate in the orange-lit area, a Korok waits on the ground beside a torch pole and the spiked wooden fence. Walk up to it to collect the seed.

Seed 3: pinwheel at the first cave outpost

Once the Capture the outposts objective begins, interact with the pinwheel on a stick beside the gate of the first outpost and the Korok appears.

Seed 4: yellow flower by the torch pole

Later in the caves, once two of the three outposts are yours, interact with the yellow flower growing by a torch pole near the last outpost gate.

Treasure chests

There are four chests. Big Hearty Truffle x7 sits near the broken wall by your Flux Construct I ally. Zonaite Steel (Spear) lies near some tied-up boxes where the Capture the outposts objective begins. Zonaite Steel (Two-Handed) is in a crate pile, close to a Black Lizalfos horde. Zonaite Steel (Bow) is on a cave path beside a torch on a pole, after you have captured two of the three outposts.

Aside quests

Clearing this battle opens new quests, among them Saving the Hidden Springs, Overcoming Differences, A Cleaning Conundrum, Unattainable Perfection and A Rito Feast, as well as the Death Mountain, Gerudo Desert, Damel Forest and Depths challenges.
