This stop is a side trip in Hyrule Castle Town before the last Spiritual Stone. You pay for three rounds of Bombchu Bowling and win Bombchus, the Biggest Bomb Bag and a Piece of Heart. Then you bomb your way to the Great Fairy of Power, pay her 50 Rupees for the enhanced Spin Attack, and hear from Impa where the Spiritual Stone of Water is.

Bombchu Bowling Alley prizes

Walk to the Bombchu Bowling Alley

From Kakariko Village cross Hyrule Field to Hyrule Castle Town and walk into the town. The Bombchu Bowling Alley is the building with the red door and the lanterns beside it. Go inside and speak to the Bombchu Bowling Alley Attendant, who is asleep behind her counter. She wakes with a start, names Bombchus as the prize and says each play costs 10 Rupees.

How Bombchu Bowling works

Pick I will play and pay 10 Rupees. The attendant moves a rope aside and explains the rules. You get 10 Bombchus per play, there are three stages to clear and you have 10 tries. A glowing round target sits at the far end of the lane. Stand behind the foul line, face the target and let your Bombchu go. The prompt on screen shows the Release and Put Away buttons while you hold one.

Bombchu

Bombchus

Aim each Bombchu at the glowing target and let it explode against it. The lane looks different at each stage. Clear all three and a CLEARED banner appears while the attendant announces “We have a winner!” On your first win she gives you 10 Bombchus. Turn toward a target and send one on its way. Bombchus can even climb walls. She tells you to come back soon and falls asleep until the next customer.

Biggest Bomb Bag

Biggest Bomb Bag

Talk to the attendant again and pay another 10 Rupees. She warns that this round is a little harder than last time and names the Biggest Bomb Bag as the prize. Clear the lane again and you get it. The bag fits up to 40 Bombs.

Piece of Heart

Piece of Heart (Heart Piece #13)

Pay 10 Rupees one more time. She says this round is harder again and that the prize is an extremely rare Piece of Heart. Clear the lane a third time and it is yours, the 13th Heart Piece you collect. The attendant tells you to come back soon and falls asleep again. Keep at least 30 Rupees for the full set of three plays.

Great Fairy of Power at Hyrule Castle

Take the garden path and bomb the boulder

Leave the alley and head up the road toward Hyrule Castle. Climb the vines on the cliff, then follow the wall along the garden path. The boulder sits on the grassy slope under the rock face. Throw a Bomb at it and crawl through the hole it leaves. The tunnel leads into a glowing teal hall with a pool and a golden fountain at its far end.

Great Fairy

Play Zelda’s Lullaby and make the offering

Walk up to the fountain, take out your Ocarina and play Zelda’s Lullaby. The Great Fairy of Power wakes and notes that you have already been given some power by another Great Fairy. She asks for a small offering of 50 Rupees. Choose Make an offering, because if you decline she gives you nothing. All Great Fairy Fountains are listed on their own page.

Enhanced Spin Attack

The Great Fairy of Power thanks you for the offering and says she can tell you are eager. The message “Your spin attack has been enhanced!” appears. Charge up an attack and release it to shoot out a wave of magic power. She adds that the spin attack leaves you vulnerable while you charge it. Open the Spin Attack card in the menu if you want a reminder. The fairy tells you to find her sister at Zora Fountain, who will grant you teleportation magic, and says you can come back to see her any time you feel weary.

Spiritual Stone of Water

Impa

Talk to Impa in the garden

Walk back out through the corridor onto the gravel path of the castle garden. Impa is waiting there. She notes that you got the Spiritual Stone of Fire and says you have but one Spiritual Stone left to find. A single river runs through Hyrule, so follow it upstream. The princess will be waiting for you at the castle. Navi repeats the plan as the new event Spiritual Stone of Water begins.

Restock Rupees and leave for Zora River

Climb back down the ladder to Hyrule Castle Town. If your wallet is low after the offering, smash the pots in a house in town for Rupees. Then go back out to Hyrule Field and follow the river upstream along the dirt path to Zora River, which is the next chapter.
