All four Elements are now yours, and Ezlo wants to revive the sacred blade. Before you do, a lot of optional business is open to you, and Roc’s Cape and the Ocarina of Wind make it quick to collect. In this chapter you learn the Down Thrust and the Great Spin Attack, upgrade the Great Spin at the waterfall dojo, finish two sets of Heart Pieces, open a Goron Cave bottle chest and make seven Kinstone fusions. Forging the Four Sword itself and the finale that follows are not part of this chapter.

The Wind Element and the Flurris fusion
You come out of the Palace of Winds carrying the Wind Element, and the Wind Tribe’s tower altar now holds all four Elements. Ezlo points out that the sacred blade can be revived. You are free to wander first, so spend the Kinstone pieces you have been saving.

Step into the Wind Tribe’s house in the Cloud Tops and talk to Flurris. Fuse a green Kinstone piece with her. A tree in Western Wood now has a standing trunk with a dirt patch on top, and you dig it up later in this chapter. All 100 fusions are listed in the Kinstone fusion guide.

Down Thrust: Swiftblade’s dojo in Hyrule Town
Warp to Hyrule Town and go to Swiftblade’s dojo in the south of town. He notices that you now own Roc’s Cape and offers to teach a new technique. Equip the cape first and then follow his drill: he tells you to jump, and to strike when you reach the top of the jump.

Jump with Roc’s Cape and press the sword button at the peak of the jump to thrust straight down. Do it a few times to pass his test. He then gives you the Down Thrust Tiger Scroll. The Tiger Scrolls page lists all eight techniques.

White Picolyte, a Brocco fusion and the town bell
In the Hyrule Town market, talk to the Picolyte seller. Buy a White Picolyte for 100 Rupees and let him pour it into a bottle. When you drink it, Kinstone pieces turn up much more often when you cut grass, so use it on the grass fields later in this chapter.

Still in the market, fuse a green Kinstone piece with Brocco. The only effect is a chick that appears in a clearing in the Minish Woods, so you do not need to go there to collect anything.

Walk to the Hyrule Town gate and stand under the bell hanging in the arch. Jump with Roc’s Cape and glide up to ring the bell, and a Piece of Heart drops out. It is the third piece of its set, and the game says one more will complete the Heart Container.

Great Spin Attack: Swiftblade the First in Castor Wilds
Use the Ocarina of Wind on the Wind Crest map to warp to the Wind Crest in Castor Wilds. From the crest, walk into the swamp to the tombstone in the southwest of Castor Wilds. It opens onto a dojo beneath it.

Before you speak to anyone, look at the left side of the dojo room, where a Piece of Heart sits on a pedestal. Take it to complete a Heart Container; the game says your life energy has been replenished and increased.

Talk to Swiftblade the First, the master at the far end. He will only teach you if you hold the other seven Tiger Scrolls. He explains that the technique chains Spin Attacks together, and you practice: charge a Spin Attack, release it, and press the sword button again as it ends, repeating to chain extra spins. Pass his test to receive the Great Spin Attack scroll.

Western Wood: Kinstone pieces and the Flurris dirt
Use the Wind Crest map to warp back to Hyrule Town. Leave through the north gate, cross Trilby Highlands and enter the grass fields of Western Wood. With the White Picolyte active, cut the tall grass: several Kinstone pieces, in green, blue and red, pop out, so keep cutting as long as they keep appearing.

Go to the trunk that the Flurris fusion raised, near the pond at the western edge. Equip the Mole Mitts and dig the dirt patch on top of it. It pays out Rupees, and a few digs fill your wallet.

Lake Hylia: Waveblade, the beanstalk, the Mole Mitts cave and the cloud chests
Warp to the Hyrule Town Wind Crest again and walk east to Lake Hylia. Climb up into Waveblade’s dojo, the tree at the lake, and fuse a red Kinstone piece with Waveblade. A waterfall in North Hyrule Field opens, and behind it is Greatblade’s dojo, which you visit later. See the Lake Hylia fusion page for the rest of the area.

Go to the tree stump near Mayor Hagen’s house and use it to shrink to Minish size (see Minish Portals). Swim north to the Minish crack and fuse a blue Kinstone piece with the Forest Minish. A beanstalk grows in a clearing on the east side of the lake. Its base is the way to the cloud chests, which you reach after the Mole Mitts cave. See Beanstalk Locations.

Equip Roc’s Cape to jump the gaps along the shore, then use the Flippers to swim through the deep water. A tiny island in the lake holds a pedestal with a Piece of Heart. The game tells you to collect four pieces to make a Heart Container, so this starts a new set. See Heart Piece Locations.

Reach the Mole Mitts cave by Roc’s Cape and dig through the dirt walls. Inside, find the Mysterious Wall and fuse a blue Kinstone piece with it. In the Goron Cave in Lon Lon Ranch, the sixth Goron arrives and all six break the wall, revealing a chest. This is the last of the five Mysterious Walls, so the Goron quest is done.

Keep digging through the cave. White Picolyte is still working, so you uncover Kinstone pieces in the dirt. When you come out on the other side, a pedestal beside a stream holds the second Piece of Heart of the new set.

Go back into the cave, take the ladder at the far end and climb the beanstalk from the clearing. At the top, a cloud holds two chests and a pedestal. One chest holds 200 Rupees, the other 200 Mysterious Shells, and the pedestal holds the third Piece of Heart of the set.

Longer Great Spin: Greatblade in North Hyrule Field
Walk to the waterfall that opened in North Hyrule Field. Go in and talk to Greatblade. He puts you through a meditation and says your Great Spin Attack will now last longer.

Goron Cave: 200 Rupees and the Empty Bottle
Walk to the Goron Cave on the cliff above Lon Lon Ranch. Inside, the chest that appeared in the first chamber holds 200 Rupees. Climb the ladder past the six Gorons to the altar chamber and open the big chest for an Empty Bottle, your fourth bottle. See Bottle Locations.

Hyrule Town carpenters: Mutoh and Doyle
Swim down the canal in Hyrule Town to the carpenter’s house with the Flippers, and talk to Mutoh. Fuse a green Kinstone piece with him. The fountain in Hyrule Castle Garden drains and uncovers a staircase, which you use in a moment.

In the same house, fuse a green Kinstone piece with Doyle, the other carpenter. A chest appears next to Link’s house in South Hyrule Field. See Hyrule Town Kinstone fusions for the town’s other fusions. Also in Hyrule Town, shrink and enter the Minish cave behind the fountain where you found the Power Bracelets; swim across and use Roc’s Cape to glide over the end of the bridge to the west side, where a Piece of Heart waits.

Hyrule Castle Garden: the fourth Heart Piece
Walk to Hyrule Castle Garden and go down the staircase in the drained fountain. At the bottom, a river runs past a swarm of bees. Jump the gaps with Roc’s Cape and reach the pots on the far bank, where a pedestal holds the fourth Piece of Heart of the set. The game says you completed a new Heart Container and your life energy has been replenished. Save your game before you go on.
