100% Completion Walkthrough21 chapters
RegionCentral Hyrule

This chapter of the 100% walkthrough covers the Central Hyrule region in a route that collects everything along the way, plus the quests, chests and minibosses you meet. Positions are map coordinates (x grows east, z grows south).

Kilton’s Medal of Honor Quests: How to Start the Molduga, Hinox and Talus Hunts

Warp to Dah Hesho Shrine (x 3900, z -1304) in the Akkala region and glide down toward South Lake Akkala, where the east and west spans of Sokkala Bridge cross the water near (3687, -1004). Reaching the bridge area ticks off the last point of interest on the map, and by the time you reach Kilton your completion figure reads 100%.

Kilton, the monster parts merchant, has his wagon on the shore of South Lake Akkala (x 3623, z -1063). Chat with him about monsters and three late-game quests appear in your Adventure Log: Defeat all Moldugas in Hyrule, Defeat all Hinoxes in Hyrule and Defeat all Taluses in Hyrule. He tells you there are only four Moldugas left in the kingdom. Each quest has two tasks: kill every monster of that kind, then return to Kilton for a Medal of Honor. Stalnoxes, the skeleton Hinoxes that rise at night, count toward the Hinox total. This chapter follows one long sweep: the four Moldugas, the Taluses of the Gerudo Wasteland and Highlands, and then the Taluses, Stalnoxes and Hinoxes of the south, the east and the Great Plateau.

All 4 Molduga Locations in the Gerudo Desert

Molduga 1: Toruma Dunes, beside Tho Kayu Shrine

The first Molduga swims under the Toruma Dunes (x -4763, z 2731) in the far west of the desert. Travel to Tho Kayu Shrine (x -4798, z 2800), whose stone base makes a safe platform: a Molduga cannot sense you on solid ground. Roll a bomb over the sand to draw it up and detonate a Remote Bomb while it is in the air, which stuns it and leaves it open to your strongest weapon. Back out before it recovers, because its spin attack hurts. The same routine works on all four.

When it dies, its remains land as a chest on the sand with Molduga Guts and Molduga Fins inside. Open it before moving on.

Molduga 2: North Dragon’s Exile

The second Molduga lies to the south-east, in the sand north of Dragon’s Exile (x -4661, z 3626); its health bar names the spot North Dragon’s Exile. Keep off the open sand until you are ready and lure it with a rolled bomb. A Lizalfos can wander into the fight, so clear it first. Another chest of Molduga parts sits by the edge of a dune after the kill.

Molduga 3: Arbiter’s Grounds

The third Molduga patrols the sand around Arbiter’s Grounds (x -4151, z 3818), where old stone blocks and arches rise out of the dunes. Use one of those blocks as your safe footing, bait it with a bomb and detonate as it leaps. A chest of loot lies in the sand near the ruins once it is down.

Molduga 4: Southern Oasis

The last one is at the Southern Oasis (x -3727, z 3616). Climb onto a rock or ledge, lure it with a bomb, stun it in mid-air and strike. Its chest holds more Molduga Guts and Fins, and that completes the Molduga hunt.

Stone Talus and Frost Talus Locations in the Gerudo Wasteland and Gerudo Highlands

Stone Talus at Champion’s Gate North

The first Stone Talus of the sweep sits at Champion’s Gate North, in the rock country just north of Champion’s Gate (x -2042, z 3194). A Talus looks like a pile of rubble until you get close. Knock off an arm with a Remote Bomb, climb on and break the ore deposit. It drops two Luminous Stones and an Opal.

Stone Talus at Mount Nabooru

Another Stone Talus guards Mount Nabooru (x -1893, z 1943). It dies the same way: stun it, climb up and strike the ore. Its drops are Amber, an Opal and a Luminous Stone.

Stone Talus at South Koukot Plateau

Move on to South Koukot Plateau (Koukot Plateau lies at x -2201, z 1823). Hit this Stone Talus with arrows and bombs and finish the ore once it is on the ground.

Stone Talus at South Taafei Hill

South Taafei Hill (Taafei Hill is at x -2807, z 1819) has a further Stone Talus. Blast the ore until it bursts, then pick up the Flint, Luminous Stone and Opal it leaves.

Frost Talus at Laparoh Mesa

Up in the snow at Laparoh Mesa (x -2940, z 1207), east of Kuh Takkar Shrine, you meet your first Frost Talus. Its ice freezes you on contact, so melt it with a fire arrow or fire weapon before you climb on and break the ore.

Frost Talus at West Sapphia’s Table

The second Frost Talus waits at West Sapphia’s Table (Sapphia’s Table is at x -3170, z 1574), north of Gerudo Tower. Thaw it in the same way and take its drops, which include an Opal.

Stone Talus at West Vatorsa Snowfield

The last Talus of the highlands is a plain Stone Talus at West Vatorsa Snowfield (Vatorsa Snowfield is at x -3474, z 1128). Keep your distance, drop it with arrows, then climb up to the ore.

How to Get the Medal of Honor: Molduga

With all four Moldugas dead, ride to Kilton‘s wagon on Taobab Grassland (x -1228, z 2726). He sniffs you out, reacts to the scent of a Molduga, and gives you the Medal of Honor: Molduga. Talking to him again is task 2 of the Molduga quest. The Hinox and Talus medals wait until you have cleared every one of those monsters.

Finding a spare horse on Taobab Grassland

The baobab-dotted grassland is a good place to catch a new horse. Look over the herds with the scope, tame one and ride it to a stable. If the stable is full, it asks which horse you want to release before it registers the new one, and you then enter a name for it.

Highland Stable Obstacle Course: How to Get the Extravagant Bridle

At Highland Stable (x 530, z 3451), Brynne offers a horseback obstacle course for an entry fee. Ride through every gate and marker in under 1 minute 30 seconds to win the Extravagant Bridle (a run under 1 minute 15 seconds also earns the Extravagant Saddle). Afterwards the stable hand Phanna lets you change your horse’s mane, bridle and saddle.

Stone Talus and Stalnox Locations: Mount Granajh, Daval Peak and Harfin Valley

Ride south-west toward the Gerudo foothills for a Stone Talus at East Mount Granajh (Mount Granajh lies at x -1376, z 3361). Break its ore and collect the Amber it drops.

The next monster is a Stalnox at Eastern Daval Peak (Daval Peak lies at x -1391, z 3600). A Stalnox is a skeleton Hinox that only rises at night and rebuilds itself until you destroy its eye, so wait until dark and keep shooting the eye.

A second Stalnox is in Harfin Valley (x 95, z 3394), close to Highland Stable. Fight it at night with the same eye-shooting routine; it takes several rounds to bring it down for good.

Stone Talus Locations: Deya Lake and South of the Dueling Peaks

Ride north-east to Deya Lake (x 366, z 1883). The Stone Talus stands on the island in the middle of the lake, south-east of Bosh Kala Shrine. Knock it down, climb up and break the ore.

The next one is at Dueling Peaks South, on the plateau south of the peaks. This is a plain Stone Talus with only 300 health, so it falls quickly.

Talus, Stalnox and Hinox Locations: Martha’s Landing, Lake Floria, North Aris Beach, Mount Taran and Gama Cove

In Faron, a Stone Talus stands at Martha’s Landing (x 1207, z 3729), south-west of Lakeside Stable. Pull it into the open, bring it down, and break its ore.

Another Stone Talus is at Lake Floria (x 1738, z 3532), east of Faron Tower and north of Floria Bridge.

At North Aris Beach (Aris Beach lies at x 1936, z 3879) there is a Stalnox. Wait for night and shoot its eye every time the bones pull together again.

Mount Taran (x 2484, z 2676) holds three Hinoxes, which the game labels “Oldest Kin”, “Middle Kin” and “Youngest Kin”. “Oldest Kin” comes first. Shoot its eye to topple it, hit it while it lies on the ground, and stay clear when it swings a tree.

The “Middle Kin” Hinox is next, on the same mountain. Beat it the same way, with arrows to the eye and strikes to the head.

Finish with the “Youngest Kin” Hinox, the third and last of the Mount Taran trio.

Gama Cove (x 3274, z 3412), east of Lurelin Village, has one more Stone Talus. Bring it down, climb on and shatter the ore.

Talus, Stalnox and Hinox Locations: Mapla Point, Hateno, Necluda and the Great Plateau

The next leg starts on the east coast at Mapla Point (x 4663, z 2372), where a Stone Talus waits. Topple it with a bomb on a limb, climb on and break the ore.

Ride west to Ovli Plain (x 3060, z 1883), north-east of Hateno Tower, for another Stone Talus.

A Stone Talus also stands on the Cliffs of Quince (x 2601, z 1780), north-west of Hateno Tower.

At night a Stalnox rises in Hickaly Woods (x 1951, z 2442). Shoot its eye each time it reassembles.

A Hinox sleeps beside Purifier Lake (x 3261, z 1314). Sneak up, shoot the eye and strike it while it is down.

Another Hinox is at Trotter’s Downfall (x 3089, z 830), north of the lake.

A third Hinox stands in the Phalian Highlands (x 2509, z 1226).

Next, North Mable Ridge (Mable Ridge lies at x 1337, z 1424), between Dueling Peaks Tower and Kakariko Village, has a Stone Talus.

The Dueling Peaks have a stronger one, a Stone Talus (Senior) at North Dueling Peaks, on the north-west side. This is the rare variant with 900 health, so expect a longer fight.

A Stone Talus stands on the peninsula at West Nabi Lake (Nabi Lake lies at x 1098, z 1163).

Another Stone Talus is at Lake Hylia North, on the lake’s northern shore.

The last Talus of this sweep is on the Great Plateau (x -1120, z 2140), in the clearing east of Hopper Pond, close to where your adventure began.

From there, walk up to the ruins of the Temple of Time for the view over the plateau.

Stalnox on Satori Mountain (near Mogg Latan Shrine)

The first skeleton giant of this sweep lies on Satori Mountain (map name at x -2229, z 338), in the pines close to the Mogg Latan Shrine (x -2298, z 462). A Stalnox only rises at night, so come after dark. Shoot arrows (a Shock Arrow works well) into the eye on its head to knock it down, then keep hitting the eye; the bones rebuild until the eye itself is destroyed. It drops a Hinox Tooth, and the kill counts as one of the giants you are hunting for Kilton.

Stone Talus at Illumeni Plateau (near Mijah Rokee Shrine)

Fast travel to the Mijah Rokee Shrine (x -2744, z 226) and glide west across the cliffs toward Illumeni Plateau (x -3106, z 15). The Stone Talus here sits out in the open and looks like a heap of rock until you get close. Knock it over, climb on and break the ore deposit on its back.

Hinox at Seres Scablands and West Hyrule Plains

The next Hinox is in the Seres Scablands (x -2324, z -450). Shoot its eye to make it fall, run in for hits while it is on the ground and back away before it stands up. Repeat until it is defeated.

The second Hinox of this leg is on the West Hyrule Plains (map markers around x -1606, z -202). Use the same routine: arrows to the eye, then melee while it is down. A burning patch of grass is a good sign that the fight is going well.

Tabantha Region: Stone Talus and Hinox Locations

Upland Lindor Stone Talus (Maag No’rah Shrine)

Warp to the Maag No’rah Shrine (x -1940, z -1459) and run west over the grass. The Stone Talus stands in Upland Lindor (map markers x -2231, z -1345 and x -2545, z -1279). Bring it down, climb on and break the ore.

Kolami Bridge South and Gisa Crater Stone Taluses

The next Stone Talus is south of Kolami Bridge (x -3117, z -1288). Beat it on the rocky ground, then warp to Tabantha Tower (x -3614, z -990) and glide off the top toward the next one.

The third Talus of the region is in Gisa Crater (x -3931, z -1090), a dry sandy basin under the cliffs. Topple it, climb up and hit the ore, then collect the gems it leaves in the sand.

Lake Totori South Hinox

Cross to Lake Totori (x -3608, z -1941) and look along its southern shore. The Hinox here stands on a patch of old tiled paving among the pines. Stun it with arrows to the eye and strike it while it is on the ground. It leaves Roasted Bird Drumsticks.

Tabantha Hills Stone Talus

Fast travel to the Dunba Taag Shrine (x -2832, z -1577), then climb the cliffs to the north-east to reach the Tabantha Hills (x -2465, z -1843). The Stone Talus walks the dry slope at the top. Freeze it with Stasis to hit it freely, then break the ore. It drops several pieces of Amber.

Hebra Mountains: Frost Talus, Stalnox and Hinox Locations

West Rospro Pass Frost Talus

Use the Sha Warvo Shrine (x -3822, z -2207) as your fast travel point and walk east to West Rospro Pass (Rospro Pass at x -3581, z -2363). The Frost Talus here is covered in ice. A Fire Arrow melts it and stuns it, so you can climb up and break the ore. It drops an Opal.

Hebra snowfield Hinox

Further on, a Hinox lies asleep in a snowy valley between West Rospro Pass and Icefall Foothills. Bomb Arrows and Fire Arrows to the eye keep it staggered; finish it on the ground. Drops include a Hinox Tooth and Seared Steak.

Icefall Foothills Stalnox

Another Stalnox rises at Icefall Foothills (x -4345, z -3743). Fight it at night: shoot the eye until it collapses, then destroy the eye before the bones rebuild.

Coldsnap Hollow Frost Talus

The next Frost Talus is in Coldsnap Hollow (x -3066, z -2954), in thick fog. Melt its ice, climb on top and smash the ore on its back.

Pikida Stonegrove Frost Talus

The last giant of this stretch is in Pikida Stonegrove (map markers x -2286, z -3162 and x -2198, z -2901), the rocky snowfield in northern Hebra. Melt its ice with a Fire Arrow, then break the ore. It drops Opal and Sapphire.

Woodland, Eldin and Akkala: Hinox, Stalnox and Igneo Talus Locations

Rowan Plain Stalnox

Start at Rowan Plain (x -1219, z -2026) in the pine woods north-west of Hyrule Castle. A Stalnox rises here at night. Shoot the eye to topple it and keep striking the eye until the skeleton falls apart. A Hinox Tooth is the reward.

North Hyrule Castle Hinox

Next, go to the grass north of Hyrule Castle (castle centre x -254, z -611), where a Hinox is awake in the open. Ice Arrows to the eye stagger it, then you can hit it with melee. The red Guardian beams around the castle are visible on the horizon, so keep out of their path.

Aldor Foothills Hinox

Fast travel and walk into the Aldor Foothills (x -736, z -2080). A Hinox sleeps on the green hillside. Bomb Arrows to the eye stun it, then close in with a sword. Drops include Hinox Toenail, Tooth and Guts.

Thyphlo Ruins Hinox

The Thyphlo Ruins (x 327, z -3080) are almost pitch dark, so the Hinox inside is hard to see until you are close. Fight it among the ruins, stun it with arrows to the eye and defeat it on the ground.

Igneo Talus at Darunia Lake

In Eldin, glide down toward Darunia Lake (x 1405, z -2842). Lava covers much of the ground, so stay on the dark rock. The Igneo Talus burns whatever touches it. Cool it with Ice Arrows, knock it down and break the ore on its back.

Goronbi Lake North Igneo Talus

Fast travel to Eldin Tower (x 2174, z -1557) and head west toward Goronbi Lake (x 1712, z -1515). The Igneo Talus is on the north side. Cool it with Ice Arrows and break the ore.

Gorko Lake Igneo Talus

Glide over the lava to Gorko Lake (x 2097, z -2150), where an Igneo Talus stands among the lava channels. Fight it the same way. It drops Flint and a Luminous Stone.

Darb Pond Igneo Talus

At Darb Pond (x 2336, z -2043) the fourth Igneo Talus waits on dry, rocky ground. Shoot it with Ice Arrows, then use a heavy weapon on the ore. Opal and Flint are among the drops.

Lake Darman Igneo Talus

Go north to Lake Darman (map markers x 1830, z -2960 and x 2145, z -3129) for the last Igneo Talus of Eldin. Use Stasis on it to hit the ore freely. It drops Opal.

Gorae Torr Shrine and the Hinox nearby

Warp to the Gorae Torr Shrine (x 2663, z -3457) and glide down into the dry valley below. A Hinox walks here among dead trees. Stun it with arrows aimed at the eye and attack when it falls. Royal Broadsword and Royal Halberd weapons can be taken from its drops.

Hinox near Tempest Gulch

A second Hinox stands in the autumn woods near Tempest Gulch (x 3455, z -3255). Arrows to the eye and a few bombs bring it down. It leaves Hinox Guts, Toenails and a Tooth.

East Akkala Plains Stalnox

Move on to East Akkala Plains (x 4096, z -2149). A Stalnox rises here at night. Shoot the eye to knock it down, then destroy the eye. It leaves two Hinox Teeth.

South Akkala Plains Hinox

The last Hinox of this stretch is in the South Akkala Plains (x 3276, z -1323), under red autumn leaves. Glide in, shoot the eye and fight it while it is stunned.

Eastern Hyrule: Hinox, Stone Talus and Stalnox Locations

Talus Plateau Hinox

Travel to the far east, where a Hinox stands on Talus Plateau (x 4443, z 355). Shoot the eye, then attack while it is down.

Ja’Abu Ridge Hinox

The Hinox of Ja’Abu Ridge (x 3910, z 58) is on the green slopes among pines. Arrows to the eye stun it; strike and back off again.

Southern Tal Tal Peak Stone Talus

Climb the river valley to Tal Tal Peak (x 4147, z -339). The Stone Talus on its southern side stands beside the river. Topple it, climb on top and hit the ore until it collapses.

Dagah Keek Shrine and the Ralis Pond Hinox

Use the Dagah Keek Shrine (x 3149, z -417) to fast travel, then walk to Ralis Pond (x 2933, z -250). A Hinox waits among the blue flowers. Stun it with an arrow to the eye and strike it on the ground.

Crenel Hills Stone Talus

Warp to the Namika Ozz Shrine (x 760, z -821) and walk to Crenel Hills (x 681, z -909). A Stone Talus roams the hills. Break the ore on its back; a Luminous Stone is among the drops.

East Hyrule Castle Stalnox

Climb the hillside east of Hyrule Castle at night. A Stalnox rises on the grass here. Shoot its eye to knock it down, then finish the eye.

Applean Forest Hinox

In Applean Forest (x 553, z -289) a Hinox sleeps among the trees. Arrows to the eye stun it, then attack on the ground.

Hinox on open grassland

One more Hinox stands on an open meadow with scattered trees. Eye shots stagger it; bombs and melee finish it. A Guardian walks the same meadow.

Hyrule Castle: Stone Talus and Stalnox Locations

Hyrule Castle West Stone Talus

Fast travel to the Noya Neha Shrine (x -952, z -624) and walk to the grass west of Hyrule Castle (castle at x -254, z -611). A Stone Talus stands on a rocky ridge there. Break the ore on its back. Amber and Opal are among the drops.

Entering Hyrule Castle through the moat

Cross the Hyrule Castle Moat (markers near x -584, z -947) on your shield, climb the castle wall and go through the West Passage into the lower levels. Stasis and Magnesis help on the way down.

Hyrule Castle Underground Stalnox

In the Hyrule Castle Underground, a Stalnox rises from a pool of malice in a barred stone hall. Shoot its eye, then smash the eye on the ground.

Hyrule Castle Underground Stone Talus

The last Stone Talus is in the underground levels too. Hit the ore until it falls; it drops Amber and Opal. A Sheikah Slate warp from the dungeon takes you back to the surface.

Kilton’s Medals of Honor: Hinox and Stone Talus

Selling the gems in Hateno Village

Warp to the Myahm Agana Shrine in Hateno Village and sell your gems to Pruce. Amber, Opal, Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire, Luminous Stone and Diamond all sell for good money.

Talking to Kilton

After dark, Kilton sets up his stall on the hillside outside Hateno Village. Speak to him about monsters. He hands you the Medal of Honor: Hinox for defeating every Hinox, then the Medal of Honor: Talus for defeating every Stone Talus. Both quests finish with “Talk to Kilton”.
