This chapter finishes the sky above Eldin, then drops through the canyon chasms and sweeps the whole Eldin side of the Depths: ten Lightroots lit from west to east and back, Zant’s Helmet in the Scorching Coliseum, Trousers of the Wild, Biggoron’s Sword and three Yiga hideouts. A short surface stop at Mayachin Shrine closes the chapter.

Quick route

Start in the sky above Eldin: take a Zonai device from the dispenser, open the Battery chest, collect the climb-the-wall Korok, then open the Amber and Mighty Zonaite Spear (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) chests on the ruin ledges. Shoot Dinraal for a Dinraal’s Claw, finish The Corridor between Two Dragons at Thyphlo Ruins and bring the horse Spot to Lester.

Drop into the Depths at Death Mountain and open two Mighty Zonaite Shield (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) chests, light Katoij, beat Igneo Talus and Stone Talus, light Kayam, take the Trousers of the Wild and fight Phantom Ganon.

Head east to Katijabis and the Scorching Coliseum for Zant’s Helmet, fight Stalnox and open the shield and bow chests, light Tayamik, loot the Assault Cart hideout and light Sikutamak before the Akkala House of Bones for Biggoron’s Sword and a Giant Brightbloom Seed chest. Finish by travelling south through Kisomom, Nipahsom, Gedihcayam, Anonisik and Kawamit, with the Big Rig and Rainmaker hideouts and the Lynels and Hinox on the way, then fly up to the Exchange Ruins for Mayachin Shrine.

Eldin Canyon Sky

Take the device and Battery chest

Device dispenser at (1979, 1218, 1259) on a sky island east of the Kadaunar Shrine island; it hands out Fans, Hydrants and Big Wheels. A few steps away, chest: Battery x3 at about (2022, 1148, 1249) sits on a grassy island with floating ruins. Open it for Battery x3.

Climb the wall for the Korok

Korok seed (climb on the wall to touch the marker) at (2049, 1201, 1290). Climb the stone pillar that rises from the island, touch the Korok’s marker on its face and take the Korok Seed.

Open the Amber and Spear chests

Chest: Amber at about (1991, 2471, 787) in an arched ruin, and chest: Mighty Zonaite Spear at about (1870, 2860, 743) on a ledge beside stone steps further north. Glide or fly across from the nearest island; the spear chest holds a Mighty Zonaite Spear, a strong throwing weapon.

Shoot Dinraal for a Claw

Dinraal, the fire dragon, circles Eldin and the sky around the Eldin Great Skeleton. Ride a Zonai wing alongside, shoot or hit the glowing scales and horn, then pick up the drops. This earns Dinraal’s Claw, a fuse material with a strong attack boost, plus scales and fangs.

Finish The Corridor between Two Dragons

Side adventure: The Corridor between Two Dragons (Kazul, Thyphlo Ruins). At about (246, 3120, 174) in the Thyphlo Ruins, stand between the two dragon statues and use the Sage of Fire’s power from head to tail. The quest finishes and reveals a hidden treasure chest holding a Ruby.

Bring Spot to Lester

Side quest: Spotting Spot (Lester, Lookout Landing). Find the beige, dappled horse Spot in Hyrule Field near (-336, -54, 23), calm it and ride it back to Lester at the stable. He gives you a Swift Carrot and registers the horse.

Death Mountain Depths: Katoij and Kayam

Open the first Mighty Zonaite Shield chest

Chest: Mighty Zonaite Shield at about (1784, 2924, -838), in the lava cavern under Death Mountain. Land on the ledge and open the chest for a Mighty Zonaite Shield, a shield that powers attached Zonai devices more efficiently.

Light Katoij Lightroot

Katoij Lightroot at (1835, 3181, -858), below Jiotak Shrine. A wide pale root plinth sits in the middle of a lava cavern; step on it to light it and unlock fast travel.

Open the second Mighty Zonaite Shield chest

Chest: Mighty Zonaite Shield at about (1608, 3005, -824), on a slab of rock west of Katoij. Cross the lava with a Fan raft or a wing and open the chest for a second Mighty Zonaite Shield.

Beat the Igneo Talus

Miniboss: Igneo Talus at about (1457, 3155, -829). Climb up the back while it stumbles and hammer the glowing ore weak point, or throw bombs at it. It drops Igneo Talus parts and gems, and its hammer can be picked up as a weapon.

Beat the Stone Talus

Miniboss: Stone Talus at about (950, 3660, -550) in the north-west of the area. Use a rocket pack or Fan to reach the glowing ore on its head, then hit it with a hammer or heavy weapon. It drops gems and a Luminous Stone.

Light Kayam Lightroot

Kayam Lightroot at (1269, 3733, -574), below Mayak Shrine. The title that appears reads Eldin Mountains Depths. Walk into the roots to light it.

Take the Trousers of the Wild

Chest: Trousers of the Wild at about (1664, 3730, -550), beside the Eldin Dark Skeleton (1518, 3707, -668). Land on the ledge by the skeleton’s ribs and open the chest for the Trousers of the Wild, a leg armor piece.

Fight Phantom Ganon and Gloom Spawn

Miniboss: Gloom Spawn and Phantom Ganon at about (1637, 3759, -554). Phantom Ganon attacks as you fight the Gloom Spawn rising from the red pool. Parry or dodge its sword and finish the Spawn when it surfaces.

Katijabis Lightroot and Scorching Coliseum

Light Katijabis Lightroot

Katijabis Lightroot at (2400, 3276, -865), below Sibajitak Shrine. Its title reads Eldin Canyon Depths. Step into the pale roots in the cavern floor to light it.

Clear the Scorching Coliseum

Chest: Zant’s Helmet at about (2143, 3178, -838) in the Scorching Coliseum (2143, 3173, -714). Fireproof gear is a must. Defeat the five waves of Moblins that attack you in the arena, then open the chest on the central dais for Zant’s Helmet, a head armor piece.

Defeat the Stalnox

Miniboss: Stalnox at about (2134, 3001, -873), south of the Coliseum. Shoot the eye in its skull to stun it, then strike while its skeleton parts fly apart. The Stalnox drops bones and a Stalnox Eyeball.

Open the shield and bow chests

Chest: Mighty Construct Bow (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) at about (1976, 3028, -834) and chest: Mighty Zonaite Shield at (1967, 3032, -834), side by side on a rocky shelf. Open both for a Mighty Construct Bow and a Mighty Zonaite Shield.

Tayamik Lightroot and the Assault Cart hideout

Beat the Stone Talus

Miniboss: Stone Talus at about (2490, 3640, -733). Climb it, hit the ore on its back and pick up the gems it drops.

Light Tayamik Lightroot and fight the Flux Construct II

Tayamik Lightroot at (2864, 3639, -706), below Kimayat Shrine. On the way, the Miniboss: Flux Construct II at about (2676, 3470, -678) attacks with a tumbling block. Use Ultrahand on the gold blocks and slam them back at it.

Loot the Yiga hideout

Yiga hideout at about (3270, 3697, -660). Open the red door, find the chest marked with the Yiga eye and open it for a Yiga Schematic (Assault Cart) and a Large Crystallized Charge. The Assault Cart appears in your Autobuild list.

Sikutamak Lightroot and Akkala House of Bones

Light Sikutamak Lightroot

Sikutamak Lightroot at (3431, 3357, -541), below Kamatukis Shrine. The title reads Deep Akkala Depths. Light it to unlock fast travel at the eastern edge of this map.

Win the Biggoron’s Sword fight

Chest: Biggoron’s Sword at about (3241, 3446, -430), in the Akkala House of Bones (3254, 3493, -320) reached from Skull Lake’s chasm. A Stalnox at about (3258, 3436, -431) guards the arena. Defeat it, then collect Biggoron’s Sword, a huge two-handed sword. The Old Map chest in the South Eldin Sky Archipelago (Eldin Canyon Sky) marks this spot.

Open the Giant Brightbloom Seed chest

Chest: Giant Brightbloom Seed x5 at about (3260, 3281, -445). A wooden skull camp holds a chest wrapped in gloom hands; fight the Bokoblins, break the gloom with a strong hit and open the chest for Giant Brightbloom Seed x5.

Kisomom Lightroot and the Igneo Talus

Light Kisomom Lightroot

Kisomom Lightroot at (2961, 2758, -984), below Momosik Shrine. A lone root plinth stands in the middle of a lava basin; step on it to light it and remove the Depths fog on the map.

Beat the Igneo Talus

Miniboss: Igneo Talus at about (2913, 2609, -962), south of Kisomom. Hit the ore with a hammer from its back or use strong bombs. It drops Igneo Talus parts and gems.

Chest: Mighty Construct Bow at about (2672, 2212, -908), on a rock shelf above a lava river. Open it for a Mighty Construct Bow, a quick-shot bow.

Nipahsom Lightroot at (2679, 1903, -709), below Moshapin Shrine; Gedihcayam Lightroot at (3060, 1825, -683), below Mayachideg Shrine; and Anonisik Lightroot at (2568, 1246, -621), below Kisinona Shrine. Step into the roots of each to light them. Bring Brightbloom Seeds for the dark approach to Anonisik.

Beat the Blue-Maned Lynel

Miniboss: Blue-Maned Lynel at about (2606, 1155, -598), near Anonisik. Strafe its arrows, lure it into the open and hit it with strong weapons.

Take down the Obsidian Frox

Miniboss: Obsidian Frox at about (2511, 927, -501), in the cold plain south of Anonisik. Dodge its slams and ground-pounds, flip it over and hit the glowing eye.

The Rusty Shield camp and Big Rig hideout

Raid the Bokoblin camp

Chests: Rusty Shield and Cobble Crusher at about (2536, 1422, -640) and (2532, 1422, -640). Defeat the Bokoblins around the rocks, then open the two chests tucked beside a boulder. The Cobble Crusher is a stubby rock-breaking club; the other chest holds a Rusty Shield.

Loot the Big Rig hideout

Yiga hideout at about (2668, 1582, -591). Open the red doors and the chest holds a Yiga Schematic (Big Rig) and a Large Crystallized Charge.

Defeat the Frox and light Kawamit Lightroot

Miniboss: Frox at about (2118, 1762, -753). Hit its hindquarters with explosives, wait for it to fall and attack the eye. Then light Kawamit Lightroot at (1799, 1640, -770), below Timawak Shrine; its title reads Eldin Canyon Depths.

South-west corner

Beat the Igneo Talus

Miniboss: Igneo Talus at about (1679, 1617, -719), close to Kawamit. Take it down from its back with a hammer or fused bombs.

Defeat the Armored Silver Lynel and the Blue Hinox

Miniboss: Armored Silver Lynel at about (1058, 1106, -474), in a bone-white tree grove. Dodge its fire arrows, break the armor with strong blows and strike when it falls. Further east, the Blue Hinox at about (1317, 936, -480) falls to an eye shot followed by hits to its belly.

Loot the Rainmaker hideout

Yiga hideout at about (1541, 698, -439). The red doors open on a chest with a Yiga Schematic (Rainmaker) and a Large Crystallized Charge. This is the last hideout of the chapter.

Back on the surface: Exchange Ruins and Mayachin Shrine

Fly up to the Exchange Ruins

Leave the Depths by gliding up the walls or by riding a Zonai vehicle to the surface near the Exchange Ruins at (-750, -860, 190) in Hyrule Field. The Hyrule Field Skyview Tower stands nearby if you want to launch and survey the field.

Solve Mayachin Shrine

Stand on the switch beside the pillar to reveal the target, then build a bat from a stake and a log on the spinning arm. Time the swing to smack the rolling ball into the target and open the door. For the bonus chest, lift the blocking slab with a stake and hit a second ball into the opposite target to open the gate for an Energizing Elixir. Touch the statue at the end for the Light of Blessing.

Tips for this stretch

Zonai flight devices and wings make the long dark crossings easy, and the Lightroots chain together so you can fast-travel back to them. Keep a Fireproof elixir stocked for the Coliseum and the lava basins, and use the minimap bezel numbers listed here to land close to each chest and miniboss. The Large Crystallized Charges from the three hideouts refill your vehicles.
